CP - Help me buy a video card
New or used, doesnt matter, but what does matter is that I've been out of the game for a bit and don't know my nomenclature and performance specs anymore.
Ideally, I'm looking for the best 'bang for the buck' pci-e vid card to go into this system:

Thanks for any assistance!

The listed 9800GT is a great card and is viable for 1280x1024 resolutions. Pretty much after that, I think you have to start looking at 300$+ cards.

Sorry, I should point out that I do not have the 9800GT, in its place is a X1950 or something.
Budget, well, the cheaper the better, and apps, I'm not a huge gamer, but the games I do play (Medal of Honor, Hitman2, etc) I want to be able to max it out.
Thanks

Not quite true, I use a 9600gt oc @1680x1050 runs games fine.
Ati has some sub $200 cards that are very good, such as
the 3870, the 4830 and the new 4770. Although not sure about the
last card.

I have'nt been keeping up myself lately, but a 9800GT sounds good. If you want to go higher, I'd check to see what size of PSU the card requires as the 460W may limit you.

Tom's Hardware does a best graphic's card(s) for the money in several price bracket's but some of these will be Crossfire/SLI (right now, only in the upper brackets). Here's the latest:

^ That's not much of an upgrade is it?
I'm not sure why you have a modern system and are looking at putting in a two year old graphics card into it.

Depends on which X1950 you have, but it actually looks like a downgrade from what I can tell. Looking at the 7600 GT though, not OC version.

Still curious what happened to the 9800 GT... if you get one, you know it'll work with your system.

When I bought it, the PO took it out and replaced it with the X1950.
