Default I work and live in Nunavut. Ask me anything!

SO many people have asked me questions about living in the North. Some people might even be thinking of moving here someday.

Here is your chance to ask me anything you want about the North and, in particular, about Nunavut. I will try my best to answer yours questions.

Fire away!

What's it like living in close proximity to polar bears? And do you have to be consciously looking for them when you're out walking?

Is it legal to club baby seals? Do you require a permit? Is said permit difficult to acquire?

It would make 24 hour darkness interesting.

Do you seriously drive a ski-doo? Is there a ski-doo sedan for families?

Whats the beach culture like? Can you surf?

i'm sure it would make the phrase: "I was in the pool! I was in the pool!!!!" seem like nothing.

Down here, we call cold water swimming "polar bear dripping," so up there, do you call warm water swimming "komodo dragon dipping," or something like that? Do you think we are strange for swimming in warm water? We don't actually swim with komodo dragons, you know, don't believe everything you read... Damn Nunavutites.
