WTB: Arcade Stick Solution for SF:IV (PS3)
Basically, I just purchased Street Fighter 4 for the PS3, and felt my childhood all over again. Sad but true, I realize... !
Anyways, I absolutely NEED joysticks for this game. I've researched a few solutions:
- Wait to buy official SF:IV sticks which are backordered to who knows when (or buy them off someone here that may have buyer's remorse!)
- An X-Arcade dual joystick (xgaming.com - anyone have these? Review?)
- Find some good PS2 sticks and fetch me a couple PS2-PS3 adapters
Just wondering if anyone here may have anything like the aforementioned items, and are willing to part with them.

There is someone on here that has an X-Arcade tank stick they were selling like a year ago. I don't know if it works on PS3 though.

Yeah I had the x-arcade stick and sold it last summer. Not sure if it works with PS3 but it did have USB so don't see why it wouldn't. As for the quality I thought it was well built. Does the website have a compatibility list?
Edit: There is a PS3 adapter for the x-arcade controller http://www.xgaming.com/playstation-3...x-arcade.shtml

Thanks guys. I found these as a potential cheap solution too:

I realize you get what you pay for...but they seems quite decent for the price. Plus it's universal! PS2, PS3 and PC.
As for the X-Arcade stick, did you just simply order it, or was there a retailer in town that sold them?

Let me know which stick you go with I'm thinking of picking up Street Fighter and I hate the normal xbox 360 controllers for playing. Worst case I will pick up a custom d-pad for it.

I bought/traded the Tankstick from Raekwon and it works pretty good. I use it for MAME and have not used it with the PS2 so I don't know too much about it. Let me know how much you would be willing to pay for a used one and I might consider parting with it.

I ended up with your old controller it looks like Raekwon! It works great with the PS3!
It was a little used up though. It would have been...oh, I dunno, polite of it's last owner to have let me know that 3 buttons didn't work on the 1st player side. The stick was grinding too. Nothing a little WD40 and some wire reconnecting didn't solve! It works great now!
I'm headed to SML later today to see if I can pick me up some Hori brand competition sticks. They apparently are the exact stick we all grew up on playing Street Fighter in the arcade! Should cost me all of $20-30 for those, and about 10 mins of my time to swap out the current ones.
Anyways, I gave the X-Arcade stick a good test yesterday with buddies, and we had a ton of fun! Got it all hooked up to a projector, my PS3, and an old (used to be useless) PC for some MAME!

Are you sure they don't work? I know when you hook it up to a computer you need a keyboard to program the keys and such, maybe it just needs a reset to default or something.

Why didn't you just email me if you had a problem with it. Do you honestly think through this that I had any intention to rip you off or sell you something that was broken. You knew that I didn't even want to sell it to you in the end but did to just to keep my word. Next time, it would be...oh, I dunno, polite if you would email me about it before you slam me on a public forum. Anyways enjoy.

Oooh! Ouch!
I deserve that.
Didn't mean for that to come out as it did. Do know, that I am EXTREMELY satisfied with what you sold me Gobs. I never really had the chance to thank you again...you DID go out of your way to help me out, and dude, I'm sorry you may be mad. This thing kicks ass...that's all there is to it. I'm a big fighting game fan, so I was going to swap the sticks out for some good fight sticks no matter what.
When I hooked it up to the PlayStation, the lower cornered Player 1 buttons didn't work. Didn't help to move to a PC either. A buddy and I opened it up and started investigating, it appeared to us that those buttons perhaps NEVER worked. The connector was crimped onto the plastic of the ground wire! LOL! Honestly looked like a manufacturer's defect. That's why I figured it was strange there was no mention.
We literally just melted off the plastic on the end of the wire and reconnected...voila. Brand new!
For the record, Gobs is the man, and I...uh...have an egg in my face.
