Default My icons are moving on me

Lately, when I start my computer my desktop icons are changing position. I move icons to where I want them when I start my computer, but then when I restart the computer they've moved back to the default positions. How can I keep my icons from moving?

I assume you are using windows? If so, right click on an open part of the desktop und uncheck 'auto arrange'

I’m always amazed these sportscasters and announcers can call the game with McDavid’s **** in their mouths all the time.

No, only one monitor. It's a laptop. To Rico, I use Windows. I right clicked as you suggested and auto arrange was already unchecked. The icons don't move all the time, only some of the times when I restart my laptop. It's at home now so I'll see what happens next time I start it up.

This happens to me sometimes too. And now my desktop won't display anything but a black background. No idea why.

Do you log into a remote desktop from it? That happens to me when I log into my work computer from home.

Are you sure you are shutting your computer down properly? I had some issues in the past with it when my wireless card was making my computer crash, would always bugger up my icons. I think it may have been due to my resolution somehow changing when it was in the process of crashing, but it didn't happen enough before I got new drivers that I was ever able to figure out what was doing it.

I'm shutting down fully using the bottom bottom left. It's how I've always done it and have another laptop at the office that gets shut down the same way. Myu problem has not happened the last two times I've shut down the other laptop so we'll see if it continues.
