AJHL All-Star game was down at the MaxBell yesterday.
I was not able to stay after the end of the 2nd, but I enjoyed what I saw to that point. Some good puck cycling and end-to-end action.
The 1st intermission shoot-out competition had a couple of Ovechkin-equese moves by players on both teams.
It looked like Guest Coach Kerr's late period decision in the 2nd to leave the line out that just scored with 24.3 seconds to was the right one, as they promptly scored another with just under 7 seconds to go in the 2nd.
South lead 9-6 after 2. Wish I would have been able to stay for the 3rd - 11 more goals scored between the two teams, with some last second controversy thrown in at the end.

Thanks for posting the pics. Which players caught your eye during the game?. Dylan Olsen, a defenseman from Camrose is rated by central scouting to go in the first round of the 2009 entry draft. Did he stand out?.
The Canucks goalie sure stood out in the first. He had the north so befuddled that halfway through the period they tried nothing but those hopeless complex passing plays, which never worked.
Good game overall, but likewise I was only able to stay for the first two.

Was hard to say if Olsen stood out or not... but not from his lack of effort.. just me not knowing who was who all that well. I'm finding the lack of sleeve numbers bit of a challenge when trying to figure out who is who in some pics.
I know Olsen (#6) was on the ice for a 2nd period goal by #11 Bryce Williamson of the North.. #11 got past everyone and put it past the goalie (Cahill-Okotoks).
Knight was there (#91)... he didn't score in the pic (pic #5 in OP).... but tossed it out front for #11 Bannister.. who got tied up and couldn't connect.

Didn't see these guys in the roster lists.
