Heard Jack and Gilles are rejecting it, no matter what is on it.

My, aren't they responsible and principled. I can't fault Duceppe ... but I'm really starting to hate Layton. Like, with a maniacal passion.

Looks like there will be tax cuts for Canadians earning less then $80k per year. That's good for me!!!

Layton is essentially a small child that didn't get his way and is presently sitting in the corner sulking.

I'd like to know the details of this tax cut. Does that mean there will be a general cut on all income tax below $80k or just an income tax cut for people who make under $80k?

What's the point of that? And they blame Harper for not cooperating with other parties? This country would be better off with a two party system, the CPC and the Libs.

I think its unlikely "the white Iggy" rejects it. Most of the stuff in there has probably been run past him for approval.

w00t w00t to tax cuts for those making under 80k

It's just that they're begging for a coalition government. With all the budget leaks, it appears that this budget will likely meet all the concerns by the Liberals and we will be fine.

I think calling him Iggy should be a bannable offence.

I agree! When I saw the thread "Iggy flirting with the West", I thought Iggy was fondling his fellow Western All-Stars!

This budget is the final nail in the Conservative's coffin for me. If I wanted Liberals, I'd vote for Liberals.

Well, technically, Iggy was getting a little friendly with Thornton during the second intermission of the All-Star game...

I'm having trouble with the mixed message... you don't want Liberals, but the Conservatives are in a coffin?

Are you unaware that they have a minority government?

But what about the rest of us. We need tax breaks, too.

I'm soooooo angry with the NDs. They said they'll vote against the budget sight unseen. My head almost exploded last night when I saw the Alberta ND leader on TV. I know he's provincial but I'm so angry with NDs in general. To think I almost voted ND once when I was a stupid young guy.

So what is the alternative for you? Voting Liberal, despite not wanting that?

No kidding. What an arrogant ass Layton is. Which is interesting, since "arrogant" is the thing he most commonly accuses Harper of being.

Interesting to see how many big or small 'C' conservatives feel the same way as you do. Harper has moved a long way from his what he has campaigned on in the passed.

I do not get this opinion. If Harper passes a Conservative budget with no deficit and little extra spending then his government falls. Then you would likely have either 1) another minority government with less of a mandate or 2) a Liberal lead coalition

Nothing we can do about it but wait for the next inevitable liberal implosion.

Edit: I am also very sure that Harper does not want much of what is in this budget. Tough to fault him for having to concede a bit to keep the conservatives in power.
