I dont' know how they're gonna pull this one off. Trailer looks real good except for the artifical cars and stuff towards the end. Seems like so many storylines involved which should make it interesting if they can pull it off - and there's half a second of the sandman in it too. Is this a 3 hour movie?

Yeah one worries a little about two many villians - similiar to what happened in the Batman franchise.
But from what I understand this movie is all about Venom - moreso is setting it up to be the next movie which will be all Venom v. Spiderman. Someone can correct me if I'm wrong.
I think Sandman is the big bad in this one, though you would not know it from the trailer.

Still not happy with the black Spider-Man costume just being the normal one...but black. It should be pure black with the big white spider.

Is the movie Venom created by an outfit from space gone squirrelly like in the comics? Kind of looks that way but I wonder how they build it up.

Actually my friend was telling me Topher bulked up quite a bit.
And yeah I think Sandman is the main bad guy in this one, and Venom is more introduced. I hope that's the way they are doing it. It seems like a lot of plot lines for one movie. Parker has to go through his whole fight with the suit trying to make him evil anyway. (As shown by other trailers and the comics). Plus they are continuing the green goblin theme, though it looks like they are going to make Harry the Hobgoblin instead of just Green Goblin part deux.
Way too many plot lines and villians if they want to have Venom in any significant way. The Green Goblin and Venom plot lines are so important to the franchise though, and definitely fan favorites, I wonder why they decided they needed to thrown in Sandman.

Topher might not be a totally bad choice. Venom is all about parralellism with Spidey. One becomes consumed by hate the other sticks to his heroic guns. They fact that Toby and Topher are of more similar sizes may actually add to this effect.

Venom is overrated, this movie is set-up to fail. I'll be amazed if this movie is any good.
EDIT: Remember when Spider-Man actually tried to protect his "secret identity"? Is there anyone in the tri-state area who does not know Spidey is Peter Parker anymore?

Besides MJ and Harry (who has to learn for the storyline) and that one train of people, who else knows?
In the comics people found out slowly, the movies have just sped up the timeline of the comics.

Yeah, he'd make the perfect Carnage though...horrible Venom. Then again, this is the franchise that brings you the future international Supermodel Mary Jane Watson as Kirsten Dunst.

Really, the most awesome thing they could do is have a movie with the Sinister Six as the villains, but I don't think it will happen. Too bad, that would be sweet.

I think they are sexy. She got them from making out with Brad Pitt in Interview with the Vampire.
