MMA news: Jose Canseco to fight at DREAM 9

Oh dear lord.....I just saw on the Score's MMA Show that baseball great Jose Canseco is going to fight veteran Hong-Man Choi at the Dream 9 even in Yokohama, Japan.

This will be ALL spectacle and no substance, you heard it here first.

No they do not test for steroids over there.


Secondly, if this does in fact happen and its a real fight it may be a death in the ring. Hong Man Choi has fought some of the best competition, and is a very good kickboxer, (mostly because of his size).

Conseco's last fight was against Danny Patridge in a 3 round boxing match. Which was a draw. His fight before that was against an NFL player and he got knocked out.

I don't think this will be a legit fight, if it happens at all.

I don't know if he could take anymore steroids did anyone else see that show on him a couple of years ago? His body is totally messed, if he wasn't such a dick I would have felt bad for him but it was bad news after bad news from the doctors.

I didn't think he would win, but thought he had a chance based more on how terrible Hong-Man Choi is.

Surprised to see that Choi was actually able/willing to lift up his hands enough to actually punch Canseco enough to end the fight that quickly, but it does appear the "knee injury" helped him out as well.

My guess is that the real losers were the folks that were forced to watch these two "fighters."

He lasted longer than I thought he would. Plus no way with a bad wheel he was getting up with that behemoth on top of him.

He "won" in Korea on a decision against a guy that was 5'10 185 lbs. and did a lot more in the final match than Choi did.

It was kind of a joke (in my view) and a way to let the Koreans try and make him into a potential "star".

He didn't actually do anything to win and if he wasn't Korean, in Korea I don't think he would have had come close to winning it.
