Default 80's clothing

I'm going to a party tomorrow night and the theme is an 80's party. Since I left thing to the last minute I need to find a place to find some 80's style gear ASAP.

Value Village is the first place that popped into mind. Any other ideas?

I would love ot get my hands on a pair of those sunglasses that had the black frames and then neon green or orange arms on them. Remember those?

Any ideas or suggestions are welcome.

Thanks!

I actually still have a pair of those somewhere. I also have a couple of those multicoloured baseball hats (one is a Wendy's Jazz Cap)

Are you going to the Miami Vice look, the preppy look, or what?

Phone up a costume rental place, they might have something.

I was thinking about a Miami Vice look if if could find some of those sweet sandals with the mesh on them and a nice pastel color suit and shirt.

At this point though I just have to go with what I can find.

I'll mention the leg warmers to my wife, I think I might pass on those....but thanks.

you need the white cotton/poly suit with the roll up sleeves. No socks and dock walker shoes, and the bright pink shirt. Lots of hair hel and stubble.

OR you could go with the dock walkers, khakis and find one of those Alligator golf shirts with the flipped up collar.

You could also go formal and wear a white preacher color shirt. you also need to smoke for that look to work.

Value Village or the Salvation army stores are great for 80s gear or something resembling it. There's also a costume shop on 9th Ave SE in Inglewood that has awesome fake moustaches ala Hawaii 5-0 or the handlebars as well. They sell sunglasses like the one's you're talking about too. However Aviators can work in a pinch.

Mustache's were pretty well out by the mid 80's, but three day stubble was in.

You might also want to get the hideous fake tan, and get a mullet wig. Oh and go to a toy store and find either a fake brick cellphone, or see if you can dig up the satchel phone.

Great ideas keep them coming.

I love the huge cellphone idea and the sweater over the shoulders.

There's a vintage clothing store across the street from the Value Village by Chinook Mall. It's called Cat's Eye. It's a warehouse of retro stuff... from the 20's to new brand name stuff. The men's clothes are in the back.
Ideas: Acid wash, baseball t-shirt with Ratt, KISS or Wasp and high top running shoes.

Tight jeans, high tops, muscle shirt or white T-shirt, with a satin like jacket (sleeves have to be pushed up to the elbows)

Well, you can also go with Zubaz pants, high tops, and a football jersey cut off just below the chest. Headband optional.

The ol' Jim Mcmahon look....

Thats awesome tron.

How about carrying around a massive boom box with a single cassette? You need the thin leather tie (how could I forget that one). show up at the party wearing a dress shirt, no pants and white socks ala risky business.

Find the four wheeled roller skates.

For the wife, the off the shoulder T, skin tight designer jeans that botton up about her belly button. hooker boots, or those stilleto heels with the white socks.

Show up as a 80's NBA player, huge fro, nut hugger shorts and converse shoes. She could show up as a cheerleader with the feathered hair and too much makeup.

You also really need one of those strap on waist wallets too.

Wear one white glove and jerry curl your hair, find a red leather jacket and bee the white MJ.

For more ridonculous ideas go rent cold as ice with vanilla ice in it.

In the words of the 80's where two people are going on the same night. "Is it a key party?"
