I need a roommate
I live in a two bedroom condo in Inglewood and I need a roommate to help pay my bills. But I need a roommate who doesn't come with their own stuff really, because frankly, my place is full of everything someone needs.
Does anyone have suggestions on how to market my place for that type of roommate or where I can advertise?
Anyone have experience with something like Rentfaster?

Those sites like rentfaster are bullshizz. They call me every time I advertise a suite and the two times I used them, I paid the fee, but nary a tenant was found (or even interviewed) through them.
They make you pay them to put your ad on a gazillion sites (wait... no... on the Herald and the Sun a gazillion times) with stupid banners that people have to register and/or jump through hoops to get your phone number to inquire about the rest of the questions that are not in the ad.
It's like paying a used car lot to sell your old beater. They cahrge you and then give you less than you were expecting. [/rentalagencyrant]
Good old Calgary Herald. I've never wavered and 80% of my tenants have come through them. Craigslist and Kijiji are very good supplementary places to advertise. Some might even say that they're becoming THE place to advertise. And they're free. Just a bit of time from you.
Just say NO to those stupid rental agencies.

Don't get a roommate. You are thinking of the money right now, but think of your sanity later Every roommate I've ever had was a mistake and I'm happy to pay double rent now

Facebook, you can advertise on their marketplace and then check out the respondents pages to see if they are crazy nuts or not.

I agree. My ex just moved out, and now I have double the rent to pay in a 3 bedroom house. I'm going to cut all expenses, just to try to keep it to myself. You may regret a roomy.

Unfortunately, I only enjoy heavy manhandling and light housework. Too bad.

Ha Ha, Manhandling.
I believe it was StoneCole, who coined the phrase "would you like to Manhandle MY Manhandle?"
Pure gold.

Does UofC have a housing/roommate registry? In Edmonton, the UofA housing registry is a great resource and how I found my last 2 roommates.

Whoops, I was mistaken, it was in fact Hulkrogan who coined that phrase.
All inquiries in regards to manhandling someones manhandle can be directed to him.
