Recommendations please.

I want to find a campground close to the lake with facilities (showers, toilets, water). My strict policy of bushwacking has been overridden by girls' strict policy of crapping in toilets.

I'm googling this as well but without the reassurance of strangers from a hockey forum, I just wont feel like I made the right decision on where to camp. Hopefully I can still get a spot or two for this weekend.

Oh yeah, other question: are there places to rent ski boats or at least jet skis and tubes? I've never really camped in the area except in the surrounding mountains. This time it's all about the water. I want beaches, boats and golf, but I already know the golf scene.

Stupid google is promising much and delivering little. I have one more caveat to add: campground needs to be dog friendly.

You're too high maintenance. Why dont you just ask for a campground that provides conjugal visits and brings you breakfast in bed while you're at it....

How about a "campground" with pit toilets and a lake?

South East of Invermere....White Swan Lake. Clean, spacious campsites (for a government campground anyway). There are outhouses that a relatively clean and well stocked with TP, which is critical in any camping excursion. Beauty Lake that can be fished or swam in. Four camp grounds to choose from, one I believe, has a hot springs, which would be very beneficial for bikini viewing. Running tap water is available. And a crazy winding logging road to get there, so not everyone on Earth camps there - which means lots of spaces still available at 3 in the afternoon on a Saturday. AND very few mosquitos!

We spent last weekend there. Had a great time. Went there on someone else's recommendation and we'll go back.

I pretty sure you can rent jet skis in the town of Invermere. I remember renting from a place on the lake, and they were located close to some bridge (my memory is pretty foggy - it was about 5 years ago). I recall when returning the jet skis there was an overpass. I believe the rates back then was ~$80/hr (?)

There is a boat/seadoo rental just on the north side of the bridge when you come down the hill into town.

White Swan... That was my first inclination except that it's ~20 minutes up that logging road. I have a little bushwacking spot up one of the 4x4 trails right there at the White Swan turn off. If I could convince the gang, that's where we'd go. St. Lucient is right there too. That makes the logging road worth driving. But the other vehicles will be cars. Kinda crappy to drive that road twice a day to get to the beach.

I'm hoping to be right by the lake. We'll probably hit St Lucient or Ram Creek (does it still exist? I couldn't find it last summer) but the objective is to swim and beach it up.

ps, If you plan on frequenting that place, be fricken careful on that road. I almost got run off by an oncoming logging truck once. Reeeeally close.

There are a couple of natural springs there. Free, on the side of the mountain. St Lucient has signs and a parking area. Room for about 25 people at a time. Ram Creek is more secluded and on the other side of the loop. Last time I went there it was cooling down. It might be deserted now because I couldn't find it last summer.

The Kootenays are littered with natural springs. If you find one, enjoy. Just leave the glass bottles in the trunk!

I was at Whiteswan a couple weeks back, had a great time. Not the best place if you're looking to spend the days at the lake though. (As you probably already know)
