Does anyone actually keep track of their fuel economy by any chance? (By that I mean manually, not with a trip computer if you have one)

I do, with a spreadsheet application in my BlackBerry. On a good tank, I get about 32mpg (7-7.5L/100km). When the traffic going home on Deerfoot is particularly backlogged, I get about 28/29mpg (8-8.5L/100km).

Seeing as I put that thread off topic, I thought we'd split it off.

I get 27 MPG (Canadian Gallons) in the city; which is almost bang on 10L/ 100km. Makes it easy to see how I'm doing week to week with that easy math; if I drove 425 km I should only be putting 42.5 litres in the tank.

Highway I get 35-42 MPG. The huge fluctuation has to do with uphill/ downhill and speed. I figure I lose 10% economy just going from 110 to 120.

This is in a 03 Grand Am with a 3.4L V6.

750 kms on a tank. 50 Liter tank. I want to drive as far as I can on a full tank till I run out of gas. I track it on my trip odometer.

I normally get somewhere between 7 - 9L/100km...

The best I've done was 6.2L/100 KM, all highway driving.

2008.5 Mazda 3 2.0L 4 cylinder Automatic.

I use about 10-11L per 100kms in my Kia Rondo, not quite as good as I hoped, as my former Kia Magentis with the same engine did about 9L/100km.

I believe I have a 60-65 L tank on my new Accord 4cyl and get 650-720km, all highway driving and I don't run it to the needle, usually about halfway between quarter and empty.

Man, my 3 blows. A full tank (~43L) of commuting gets me a hair over 400kms. A lot of start and stop driving which I think is hurting me. I've never drained it on the highway so I'm hoping the mileage gets MUCH better when I do.

I track my mileage using the fuel logbook on albertagasprices.com website. I enter every fillup, my odo at the time, what station, and the cost. My overall average this year so far after 1003.5L is 8.726 L/100km or 32.24 mpg. Last year it was 9.434 L/100km or 29.82 mpg using 2200.8L.

I used to have a spreadsheet. I don't update it anymore but still write the mileage on the receipt whenever I get gas.

1995 Tercel, about 400 km with studded tires in the winter, and about 450-475 km with summer tires on it.

Edit: Usually takes 35-36 Litres to fill

Mine is a Kia Rio and I am not as happy with the mileage as I thought I would be. Lots of driving home on Deerfoot in rush hour traffic will kill your mileage though.

i get 9L/100km on a 1998 Volvo Turbo Wagon in mixed City/Hwy driving. I am pretty happy with that given the age, size and speed of the brick.

Wow! That's pretty good for a full size truck. Wonder what kind of mileage one would get with a Hemi?

I drive a 2008 Saturn Outlook FWD, 3.6L V6. I split about 70/30 city/deerfoot. A couple days ago, I got 557km out of 67L which I think works out to 12L/100km. The warning light had just turned on. That's the best I got out of the car so far. I figure I could push 600km if I didn't have a heavy foot. Haven't gotten a reading for highway yet, since the farthest I drive to is Edmonton.

never tracked it manually but according to the computer thingy i average around 20L/100km on long road trips i get lucky and get it down to 16/100...ouch..

oh and i drive a dodge mega cab with a hemi...
