Default Frank Thomas and Griffey Jr.

two long ball hitters who enjoy a clean reputation. My late grandfather said only two guys in recent years had as good a swing as old Ted Williams. John Olerud was one, Griffey was the other.

It's something when you consider that Griffey was hitting home run numbers that hadn't been seen in years and staying with the guys who have since come out as being juiced up. Many forgot about Griffey because he went to Cincy and that team hasn't really been playoff calibre, and like most people...has slowed down with age and had a tougher time coming back from injuries. Than consider...how many of the pitchers they were against being juiced up. The guy was in the majors at the age of 20 and was a decently productive hitter back than, he was one of the most naturally talented players to come along in years. In his prime he could hit .300, hit 45+ homeruns and play gold glove center field, while having a good enough eye at the plate to be a 385 on base guy. From 1993 to 1998 he was the best player in MLB.

Still was pissed off when he jumped to the majors and didn't get some playing time with the Cannons.

Screw you Griffy, screw you and your unbelivable talent.

Agreed. I remember when Tino Martinez was a Cannon. We'd sit right by the on deck circle and my dad and his friends would keep hollerin "Ti-NO!" at him to try to phyche him up(though I'm sure it just annoyed him haha).

I miss those old days at Burns Stadium, good times!

1 of my first Cannon games was the first time I saw A-Rod play. He hit a grand slam and drove in about 8 runs I think. Crazy 15-13 score. Poor pitchers. The first baseman who's name I forget hit one into the middle of a soccer game over centrefield.

I miss AAA at the hot dog stand as well.

I remember Tino, Edgar, Buhner and Harold Reynolds. My budd's dad was named Harry Reynolds so we always had a good laugh.
