Isagenix?
Anyone familiar with this stuff? It's a "cleanse/diet pill" that is supposed to be really effective. My friend's fiance is going to start up on it and I just wondered if there's anything I should warn her about.

In my opinion, 99% of all cleanse/diet pills/toxin scrubbers/enzyme pills/etc. are all quackery and should be avoided at all costs.
Taking a look, Isagenix appears to be nothing more than a high-fibre, high protein supplement. Stick to real food (cheaper) and exercise. Isagenix only works if you basically skip meals and eat Isagenix instead. Why not just eat real food that you yourself control? (Unless you have no self-control).
Any product that "cleanses" you or "removes toxins" are patently B.S. and perhaps even harmful. There is no such thing as cleansing your body or removing toxins through dietary intake. You might improve digestion and your body's natural ability to process substances through your liver and kidneys but that's all it is ultimately. Taking many of these substances can actually damage your liver/kidneys. The only thing that actually does anything is a variety of anti-oxidants.

Cleanse's are the biggest scam around.
Your body cleanses itself naturally. Do you think food and other stuff stays in your for longer than a day? No.
Paying a whole bunch of money for some cleanse product that taste like pepto bismal and honey? Now that's shi tty!

I heard that some people can have up to 15 lbs of poo in them that basically just gets caked into the colon.

That what I've always heard too.
Is it true?
Not that I need to lose 15 lbs, but man, that would be a satisfying dump.

A 15 Pound dump would tear your cornhole in half.

"caked"? Sure there probably is, but isn't that what the colon is for?
Clean it all out, and it'll just fill up again with the next 15lbs of food you eat.
Because the new crap will be better somehow than the old crap?

That was sort of my take on it. Couldn't you basically achieve the same results by eating poultry/fish, green veggies and whole wheat bread, and cutting out red meats and dairy? That's how I dropped 40 pounds.

You mean eating right? Yeah you can.
100 bucks say you keep your 40 lbs off....while anyone who does the cleanse thing packs whatever weight they lose back on.

Believe it or not, fasting is also a pretty good way to cleanse your system, especially if you're about to start a diet. Go two days without eating, but make sure you drink plenty of water and then starting eating small meals 3-4 times/day.
EDIT: That wasn't directed at you directly, Azure. Just thought I'd add on to your post...fatty.

Hah!
Yeah, I know what you mean....but too many people think that just not eating and taking some sort of pill will make you lose weight.
It will, to a point....and then you're either going to get sick or gain it back twice as fast as you lost it.
Its all about the lifestyle change.

But even if you have 15 lbs of poo caked to the inside of your colon, why would you even want to lose that weight? It's not like your appearance will change whatsoever....the only difference you'll see is the scale reading. So unless you walk around with a scale and weigh yourself infront of others, and they can actually see that you lost 15 lbs, nobody will even notice.
