Maybes mean I won't be actively sending trade offers on them, but I'd listen to a good offer. I will not take 40 cents on the dollar on my UFA's. I have plenty of money room to sign them. (13.8 million + 3 million from OTT + any cap increase - 550,000 to Chicago = lots of money to be a UFA player).

I'm not sure anybody even needs Caron, but if you do need a backup, he's available.

SAbres are also sellers too. a more detailed thread likely to follow. having said that we like our core and our direction for next year, so our young guys and our goalie aren't on the block. they could be traded but only for deals that make us better next year!

We have only 2 pending UFAs Goalie Marc Denis (he's been in a tough CPHL situation this year, but could help provide backup insurance with a solid OV ranking, we could pick up most of his $$ and would be looking likely for a good ECHL F or G in return) and versatile cheap lw/c/rw Adam Mair, who we would flip for a similar but younger less experienced guy

we have a few other solid veterans that I think could make a playoff team better with good EX/LD and or DF values this include Dave Scatchard (c/rw has had really a great year for us, all things considered), D Greg Devries (overmatched as a top pairing guy for us but good DF and other rankings that make him useful), D Nolan Pratt (solid DF rating) and D/RW Wade Belak (everyone wants him)

we would consider moving Ryan Smyth or Steven Reinprecht for packages of players that involve at least one good young/cheaper top 6 forward, and CPHL ready assets

If anyone wants a quirky SIM vet who will score big goals in the playoffs, Stu Barnes can be had from the Jackets. Plays RW or C and has 90 EX and 88 LD. Guys like him score in the playoffs while your 25 year old 82 OV hot shot soils himself and goes 12 games without a goal and is -10.

just an update on my selling ways.
this IS NOT a fire sale, I repeat, this is NOT a fire sale.
I am not giving up a 78/79OV guy for a marginal prospect and a pick.
I would like fair return for these guys. if you are wanting to make a good push for the playoffs, you will have to pay a price to acquire guys like Kovalev, Murray, guerin, foote.
anyhow, sorry for the rant, and I may be overvaluing my players a bit, but I have some players here that could put teams over the top. and for that, my friends, you are going to have to offer more than a marginal player and a mid round draft pick.
