Default Shot at Stamkos up for Grabs!

After talks over a top line forward coming to San Jose fell through involving the Tampa Bay 1st round pick and a couple good young players going the other way, the Sharks have decided to put what is now a very safe #2 pick that could very easily be the #1 pick by the end of the year up for grabs.

Although we'd love to hold on to this thing, we're in a type of situation now that we believe we have to make the most out of this year or risk losing all our big moves up till now for practically nothing.

Depending on the player coming our way, we would be open to adding a very good young player or two to get something done. We require an under 30, 80ov player or more coming our way to consider such a move but remember, I'll be adding a lot to the pick to even it out.

Looking at the standings TB sits in 31st, 10 points back of 30th and only 3 points ahead of 32nd. This pick is only going to go up in value as the draft approaches so get it while it's possible!

If the asking price is a under 30 80Ov type player... I say its hard for the value to go up much higher, as so called top player in the NHL, Lecavalier is only a 83

Fine Print: ya ya I know, I read that part of the post too, just poking

Considering this is most likely the number 2 pick too...yikes! Stamkos is good, he's above the rest of the draft class. The other players themselves are good, but there isn't much difference between picks 2 and 4 in this draft and the gap is closing as the season wears on in regards other guys near the top and consensus number 2 pick Drew Doughty (who is a nearly a full year older than the rest of the class).

Like I said, a SHOT at Stamkos and A LOT extra that would be talked about when the interested GM came forward. I don't recall saying a young 80ov player for Stamkos.

If you don't know who Stamkos is, you'll know by the time this World Junior tournament is over...the O has taken over as THE premier league in Canada and Stamkos is quite a player. Doughty and Pieterangelo (2 and 3 in NHL rankings) are going to be good ones too...plus there's this Tavares kid who makes me want to stockpile first rounders for next year...

There's no way I'd be giving up a 80OV player for Uncle Jessie!
