Well lets have a look at the leagues over and under achievers throught the first month of the year shall we. We'll start with the good
Over.
Quebec Nordique

Yes the Nordique somehow are hovering near the top of the entire CPHL only 2 points back of top spot. Olaf Kolzig continues to be a SIM god as he's posted 11 wins and a 2.45 GAA so far. Slava Kozlov has to be the leagues MVP thus far collecting 15 goals and 28 points so far this season putting him 12 ahead of his closest team mate.
Ottawa Senators
No one will deny that the Senators boast some terrific young players, but did they expect this team to be this good this fast? The quartet of Eric Staal, Jordan Staal, Anze Kopitar, and Justin Williams has indeed been able to carry the load, and the NHL Pens wish M-A Fleury was playing this well. Dan Hamhuis continues to show that he is the best CPHL player ever who lives on a yacht.
Boston Bruins
Well Bruins GM KevanGuy knows a thing or two about Sim chemistry as his team is off to a hot start. The duo of Glen Metropolit and Curtis Brown rank among the leagues leaders in scoring and plus/minus. Factor in that the Bruins have had injury problems on defence that other teams haven't endured yet and their strong start is even more impressive. Rob Scuderi is unsung hero of the year to date.
Calgary Flames
If only the NHL Flames and NHL Miikka Kiprusoff would get off to a start like this. Kiprusoff has been nothing short of amazing early in the CPHL season. Lead by the veteran quartet of Glen Murray, Bill Guerin, Adam Foote, & Alexei Kovalev the Flames find themselves in the top end of the Howe Conference playoff picture.
