SI.com rates the game day atmosphere for each team

Interesting article by SI that does an in depth analysis by rating the experiences each NFL team offers to it's fans. Each team is judged by using 7 different categories. From the price of a game day ticket to tailgating.

The Packers and Lambeau field were rated #1 with the Jets and Giants stadium finishing in last place.

Clicking on each individaul team, in the how they finished list, leads to a detailed explanation of each category and a rating of how the team fared.

As much as I love the game of hockey I think I would rather see all 32 NFL stadiums before all 30 NHL arenas. Just the atmosphere, amount of fans and how much different each stadium would be compared to other sports would be awesome!

Ive been to Lambeau, Soldier Field, the Dawg Pound and the Black Hole in Oakland. Amazing stuff, but I would rank the Raiders game higher, personally.

Once the Raiders build their new stadium (better area, not dual use, closer to the field, better concourse) and the team gets better (please?) they'll be higher ranked.

Going to Qwest Field as much as I did I am glad to see it getting recognition. Always had a blast there, and the atmosphere is great.
The time that T.O. signed the ball and gave it to a fan I was there, and it was almost my ball. Great timest there, no doubt.

How the hell did the Saints team score a five out of ten in terms of being worth watching?? From what I've seen the past two seasons, they are one of the funnest teams to watch in the NFL. Reggie's cutting, Brees' ability to dissect a D, the fact our own D gives up big plays(usually resulting in high scoring games for both teams), and just TRY to predict what Sean Payton is going to do once they get deep in the redzone. The master of trickery. Try to play QB1 with the Saints offence at the pub, you'll probably end up breaking the machine in frustration.

I wonder if it means what theyre traditionally like to watch

EDIT: On a side note, I've never been, but I've heard a few times that going to Arrowhead is an awesome time, and has the best crowd in the league. I can't believe its ranked so low, especially behind the Texans. I really find that hard to believe. Judging by the ranking of his picks, I'm getting the impression that "Stadium Atmosphere"="New Stadium", which generally is not the case. I really doubt going to a Texans game would be funner than a Chiefs game.

Couple of amazing things:

KC and New England have similar income compared to the team successes. If you compare KC to STL, KC is 1.5 mil more and yet they are very close geographically.

Indy and Pittsburgh definately have the best bang for the buck due to team success vs ticket income.

I can't argue with anything in the rankings, although these are a snapshot in time. Because the team's performance is one of the criteria, if my 49ers suddenly started on a streak then this ranking would jump.

Candlestick has history, but like the article said, it is a football field in a baseball stadium.

I would love to see a new stadium on the same site, but it appears that dream is gone since the costs required to upgrade surrounding infrastructure would be too much.

How is Arizona not last. Not only has their team sucked since the beginning of time, but the 11,000 people that actually bother to show up can't generate all that much noise. While i'm sure the new University of Phoenix stadium is an architectual marvel, that would be the last place i'd want to watch a game.

I've seen a few games in the Metrodome/dump and have to agree with their comments in regards to the stadium atmosphere. The place is a dump compared to other indoor stadiums.

It's actually pretty good place to watch the game. I went to the preseason game last year against the Steelers (1st game ever) and it was a good atmosphere.

I got to another regular season game and it was actually pretty loud, full and fun.

Considering they "have sucked since the beginning of time" that is really not that bad.

This statement would've been definitely true about four or five years ago, but is simply incorrect now. The new stadium(and new talent) seems to have rejuvinated the fanbase down there(at least for the time being), and games look like theyre alot of fun. For his bday my uncle received Cardinals season tickets from his wife and Ive been told they will fly me down there and take me to a game when the Saints play there(they play each other this year but unfortunately for me its in New Orleans)...let's hope its for this year's Super Bowl...
