The Caps dusted off the Rangers in the 1st round of the playoffs tonite. Markus Naslund paced the team... putting up 3 points.

Droopy droops deserves a ton of credit for building a team that has managed to keep the series close against a dominant Panthers team.

My team isnt exactly dominant because I didn't build a playoff team. I knew the young guys would suck in the playoffs but I was unwilling to trade them. My goal was met by being the best team in the league in the regular season and with that I can keep my younger players. Anything after is a bonus but I don't think I have the playoff depth, experience, or leadership to win the cup.

But I really don't mind! If I lose I won't care. If I win, it will be a fluke.

‘Canes fend off elimination




With the Penguins holding a gun containing three bullets that could put a quick end to the Hurricanes playoffs the ‘Canes were able to avoid the first bullet. With the 5-2 victory last night the Hurricanes pull themselves partially back into the series now trailing the best of seven 3 games to 2.

The Hurricanes were lead last night by trade deadline acquisition Mattias Norstrom as Norstrom’s two goal effort help charge the, up till then, diminishing winds from Raleigh. The Hurricanes hope to once again dodge another bullet tomorrow night in Pittsburgh to bring the series back to home ice were the Hurricanes hold a 2-1 lead in the series and a 4-1 season total,outscoring the Penguins 23-10
