The Winnipeg Jets have sent the versatile Sami Kapanen to the Penguins for young defenceman Jim Vandermeer.



Jim is the type of young player we were looking for and we thank GM Goffie for the negotiations and wish Sami all the best in P-town!

We feel that Kapanen is the last piece that we were looking for heading into the playoffs. He is very versitile and can play up front and on the blueline. He will be suiting up along side Chris Chelios on the 3rd line for us. We feel like our defense matches up with everyone in the conference.
