Default Fantasy Keeper League Question - Which Winger Should I Keep?

Hey, I get to keep one C, one W, one D, and one G at the end of the year for my keeper pool. I need to figure out which winger to keep, would love to hear some advice.

I'm choosing between Slava Kozlov, Maxim Afinogenov, and Patrik Elias.

Kozlov: 68 gp - 22g - 47a - 69p - +6, 30 PIM
Afinogenov: 53 gp - 23g - 34a - 57p - +17, 66 PIM
Elias: 66gp - 21g - 43a - 64p - -4, 34 PIM

Goals, Assists, +-, and PIM are desireable in this league.

Let me know what you guys think... right now I'm leaning towards Elias, but Afinogenov seems like he'll be roughly equal Elias in point production but maybe he'll have a better +- and PIM?

Thanks!

Ok take this is what its worth because I don't do to well in these things, if I even play them. But based on what you have provided us with, am I missing something, or why wouldn't you take the Sabre? Looks good to me.

But like I said, there are probably a lot more knowledgeable people on these things that can give you a lot better answer.

CBS Sportsline. We get 2 C, 4 W, 4 D, 2 G to dress every week plus 4 players in reserve. Its a head to head league each week, stats measured are goals, assists, +-, PIM, SO, W, Sv %, GAA, Special Teams pts, and GWG's, 10 in all.

I hear ya... mostly because Elias was mostly healthy this season, while Afinogenov has a history of injury issues... also Elias seems the more 'blue-chip' option as he's put up multiple productive seasons, Afino is still up and coming, but not sure how far he'll go. Elias seems like the safer bet, but if everyone thinks Afino is the better choice I may go with him.

Kozlov is a real sleeper... he put up amazing #'s this year, but I'm not sure he'll repeat next year or not...

Ahh, ok.

As for Kozlov...doesn't a lot have to do if he gets to ride shot gun with Kovalchuk and/or Hossa?

Yeah, thats why he's put up such big #'s this year I think, because he's playing with one of or both of those guys. I wouldn't really even consider Kozlov as a keeper except he's been so amazingly productive this season, he's a big reason why I think I'll win the 12 team league.

Afinogenov is done...even if he comes back it will be for the last few games of the regular season and since Buffalo is deep up front, it's not like he is there go-to guy or anything so you might only see him on the scoreboard once or twice.

Kozlov is REALLY streaky this year. Puts in a load then goes MIA for the next 8 games.

I'd keep Elias...he hasn't had the greatest season but out of those 3 he is your best bet imo.

Elias is definitely where I'm leaning... I'm not so sure that Afinogenov isn't a very close second though... he's over ppg, and has better +- and PIM than Kozlov/Elias.

I would probably go with Elias, with Afinogenov a close second. Elias had a terrible start this year and I think a lot of that was pressure of living up to his big contract. But in the second half he's been pretty effective, and has that long proven consistancy. He's at an age where he should still produce quite well for a couple more years. Sort of like how St.Louis struggled last year and came back as the year wore on and is all the way back this year. I'd look for the same thing from Elias.

If you're thinking of signing whichever player you choose for 3 years (which is the most most keeper leagues allow), Elias would likely be your bet. He's probably plateaued his career production at this point, but isn't going to retire or anything like that soon, and with Brodeur on the backend would help with the +/-. If you can sign a player for a longer duration, so for 5 years or something like that along with a minimal cost, Afinogenov would be the way to go for sure. In other words, it's all about duration of contract. Kozlov in my mind isn't even a consideration as he's more of a support player than a grade A player (if he's demoted off the Kovalchuk line or traded, you may be screwed).
