A Good Calgary Customer Service Story.
My wife and I have gone to Vintages a couple of times and when there we always get a bottle of Wolf Blass Gold Label chardonnay. She likes chardonnay and I must say I like that as well.
After having it we looked for it in liquor stores & wine merchants with no luck. We've actually checked out stores for almost 2 years and asked, but none ever carried it.
So with my wife's birthday coming up I decided to do what I could to find some of this stuff.
I ended up sending an email to Calgary Co-op (that is my closes liquor store, so check them out first). That email was forwarded to the Liquor Store director. He looked into it and found that it is usually only available to restaurants, but he spoke to a rep and was able to get a case if I wanted it. I said sure. He asked me how many bottles I would like (I was shocked, I had assumed since it would be a special order it would be by the case, but if I only wanted one bottle that would be no problem). He told ma a case held 6 bottles and would take about a week to get delivered so I decided to take the entire case. Exactly a week later (today) I got a call from the manager of my local Co-op liquor store saying the case was in.
Thank you for going that extra mile, Calgary Co-op.

The guys down at 4th Street Liquor store are really good for ordering in anything you need. That said, so are the guys at Calgary Co-op on 10th St.

I figured somebody would do it, I was just impressed at how smoothly the entire experience went. And with all the poor customer service around town, I thought I would share a good story.

The last time we were at Vintages (for my birthday last month) we double checked the bottle in case we were mistaken - we weren't.

Are you sure that's the proper title of the wine? The Wolf Blass website doesn't list a gold label chardonnay: http://www.wolfblass.com.au/brands/w...rchResults.asp
EDIT: Upon closer inspection, Gold Label Chardonnay is available on the US, UK and Australian Wolf Blass sites. Odd that it's not listed on the Canadian site. Maybe it's only available by special order and thus, not listed like the other regular products on the alberta liquor guide?

Perhaps, but I have a case waiting for me so it must be available, just not at large. I was told it is only supposed to be sold in restaurants so maybe they don't list it if it isn't available to the public at large.

In any event, that liquor guide doesn't list a particular wine that I know for a fact I bought at Highlander on 16th not more than a month ago. Either the site is wrong or you can't get the wine there right now. I'll have to check. It's official: the site sucks.

You can also get they're t-shirt, which says:
I went down to Liquor Box.
(you get it if you buy over $100 worth of booze)
