8 Is Enough for 7 in a Row

The Minnesota Wild continued there hot streak on Saturday night with an 8-1 win over the Sens to give them 7 wins in a row.

But it was not without its price.

For the 2nd straight game the Wild lost a front line player as Simon Gagne joined Hank Zetterberg on the sidelines for at least a week

In their absence, a few of the Wild's other players stepped up. Rookie Evgeny Malkin had a 4 point night, including 2 goals, while new comer Kristian Huselius scored 2 goals. Fellow new Wild members Mike Richards and Fedor Tyutin also enjoyed good nights with 2 points each.

The Wild play tomorrow against the caps. John Grahame will get the start.

Canadiens finally solve the Hurricanes, however, the victory comes at the cost of an injury to starting tender Thomas Vokoun.
Vokoun stopped all 10 shots he faced prior to being clipped under the chin by a Stephane Yelle hi-stick. The infraction was accidental, but Yelle received a major and a game misconduct. Vokoun is listed day to day with a laceration on the neck.

The Habs received strong games from Francois Beauchemin (1-2-3 +2) Jere Lehtinen (1-1-2 +2) and Steven Reinprecht (1-1-2 +1). Phillipe Sauve also played a solid game in relief of Vokoun, stopping 18 of 19 'Cane shots.

Sergei Federov also left the game in the second period, his injury is undisclosed, but he is not expected to miss much time.
The Habs have one net to rest before facing off against the Ducks on Monday.

Bolts Zap Jets

The Jets 3rd and 4th lines get hammered tonight with all players on those lines ending at -2 or -3. Brett McLean and Denis Arkhipov continued their strong play with a point each and Brad Ference chipped in with another assist on the power play. Conklin was average but Leclaire will start next game.

The Battle of New York domination continues for the Rangers!

Hudler was the lone bright spot for the Isles scoring once and adding an assist.

Blues next on Monday.

Haha stupid Flyers!

Thrashers get a needed day off to rest up some players. Good game overall including special teams.

40 SOG!!!
You have got to be kidding me!
Morrison and Umberger pay immediate dividends as Flames beat the Kings 4-3.
Also newly acquired Ossi Vananannaaaannan pots a goal and an assist.
Wow, and here I thought I had given up firepower. Now I must remember this is the Kings that I beat and had it been a good team, I suspect that it might have ended slightly different.
