Default Where to stay in Toronto?

Going out to Toronto next week (Tues - Fri) and thought I would consult with the oracle that is CP on which hotels people prefer.

Currently I am reserved in the Hilton (downtown) at 390/night, but figured someone could speak of a better place to stay for that kind of money or less (I have also checked the Royal York, but it is full).

Need to stay downtown in the financial district.

Thanks in advance.

I stayed at the Skydome (during BB season) I think it was $250 a night.

I stayed at the Sheraton Centre right across from Toronto City Hall at Queen & Bay a couple weeks ago when the Flames played the Laffs, pretty decent place and well within your price range.

I'd go with the Soho Metropolitan.

Agreed on the Soho Met, but I think that's too far out of the way. The Normal Metropolitan is tucked behind City Hall, and is decent.

The Holiday Inn on King is reasonably close to the financial district.

Marriot Downtown. The Westin.

Most of those hotels are very costly. depends on how far away from what you need to be. Do you need to be within a block of the convention centre? or a short streetcar ride to First Canadian Place?

There's also a Ramada on Jarvis... just stay away from the park across from it at night.......

Good choice IMO.
