Default McNugget Sauce

So I was at McDonald's getting a 20 piece McNuggets and I asked for Hot Mustard sauce and...

THEY DIDN'T HAVE ANY!!!

Aggh, all they have is this gross "honey mustard" stuff that looks like white paste with black specs in it. What the heck happened to Hot Mustard? I really hate when restaurants change mainstays that they've had for years. I haven't felt this disappointed since McDonaldland Cookies and Mini Chocolate Chip cookies disappeared.

If they remove the Canadian BBQ sauce, I'm going to be really mad (American BBQ McNugget sauce is more like HP sauce).

On a side note, a friend of mine in Australia told me they removed the big breakfast down there and a lot of people are mad.

Honey Mustard is good on certain things - like Arby's Chicken Bacon & Swiss...but for nuggets it's (pardon the term) weaksauce.

McD's Hot Mustard really was one of my favorite sauces of all time with the sharp bite and stronger burning mustard aroma that you don't find in supermarket mustards. Now I suppose I'll have to try to find a recipe online and make my own, hopefully it's the Canadian iteration, not the American version (which again is inferior).

The recipe for the plain mcnugget sauce is just miracle whip and mustard. About 1 -2 inch of mustard for 2 large tablespoons of miracle whip.

McNuggets should only be eaten with sweet n' sour sauce... in an emergency BBQ sauce will suffice.

Semi-related post. I used to eat a lot of McDs - too much. Decided that i needed to cut that junk out and I've been pretty effective at doing so.

Anyhoo so I hadn't had any for a good 3 months, well a couple weeks ago I decided that I would have a Big Mac just for kicks.

Dear god I thought I was going to die after that.

The lesson - if you eat McDs - you must eat it regularly otherwise the consequences are dire.

Now I can't even stand the smell of it.

however after a prolonged cleansing period (ie 3 or 4 years) you might be able to go back and have a deli sandwhich and a handful of your kids fries and not die...but that washout period takes along time (especially if you had toxic levels in your bloodstream prior)

If only they actually sold that sweet n' sour sauce in the store.

Seriously, any other sweet and sour sauce or plum sauce for that matter tastes like crap.

Speaking of McNuggets, anybody else think they should go back to the old version made with beaks and feet instead of the current "white meat only" ones?

Yes. But at least they got rid of the Bonito powder in the "white"-y McNuggets.

Yeah, this is exactly what I have gone through. I guess it's just best to avoid it all together .. although I do like their fries and actually I like to dip them in the hot mustard sauce ... yum .. But according to this thread, they don't make that sauce anymore

I feel the same way........was a huge hot mustard fan until I went the other day for the first time in months and was given that other crap.

Oh well, any excuse to eat less of the stuff is probably a good thing.

Truly another example of our freedoms being slowly taken away, hot mustard is the natural mate for a mcnuggett.

McDick BBQ sauce is the best sauce. I would drink it if it was socially acceptable.

I dunno what it is about McDonalds, but its one of those things where the more people tell you how bad it is for you and how horrible it tastes, the more I crave it.

I hadn't had McDonalds in about 2 years when I went to go see Supersize Me. The next day, I went and got 3 cheeseburgers.

I agree, that stuff is great. I think I once enquired about buying a bulk amount from Rotten Ronnies and was told that I could, although I never followed it up. Maybe I should.

Say what you will about McDonald's food, they hire some of the best sauce designers in the world.

I wholeheartedly agree, I stopped eating McD's after high school but every once in awhile I'll give in and get a McMuffin for breakfast, it's sooooo goood but I always ended up regretting it 3 hours later...

Thank heavens Timmy's came out with the breakfast sandwich, totally saved my McMuffin cravings. Now I can ban McD's from my diet forever.

I quit all fast food in '97 and had the WORST EXPERIENCE OF MY LIFE after eating McDonald's one day in 2002 when I first moved to Ottawa... haven't touched any fast food since and never will again.
