Huge Shakeup in Winnipeg
With the Jets on a 3 game losing streak, and the rebuilding process beginning, GM Walsh made a major deal for the future of the franchise today.
Walsh has traded, Petr Cajanek, Jeff Hoggan, Brent Johnson and lots of cash to the Blue Jackets for Tomas Surovy, Jamie McLennan, Pascal Leclaire, and Matt Stajan.
Petr was the MVP of this team last year but he has struggled early this season, and most of it is because of the supporting cast. Brent struggled since signing his new contract. Jeff played very few minutes for us. In Surovy, we are getting a good young player who hopefully comes back to the NHL next season, Noodles is a good veteran for leadership and can play some games for us as well. Matt and Pascal are the keys to the deal for us. Stajan will provide us with some good energy up front and should develop into a solid 2nd line player. Leclaire is now the goalie of the present and the future. We believe his time has come to prove he is capable of being a solid #1 tender in the CPHL.
