Flames trade with the Panthers
while losing again to another questionable team, GM Axmann had finally seen enough and took a call in the pressbox from Panthers GM Penney.
After the phone call, as the players were leaving the ice, Axmann called over Sergei Federov and told him to pack his bags. Sergei had been shipped to the country club in Florida in exchange for Ray Whitney.
This move was strictly done to shake the team out of its funk. and besides.
it also saved the Flames a couple milliion in cap money.\
Flames are happy to bring home Alberta boy Ray Whitney and lets see what he does here instead of Federov.
