Default UFC - Ortiz vs Shamrock #3

Anyone else watching this right now? Or is it not on until later in Calgary?

Either way a very good performance was just put in by a Edmonton boy...never thought I would cheer for a greasy edmontonian but....

I dont know about anyone else but Im pulling for Kenny Shamrock. I know he he is about a 1/100 chance but I would love to see the guy shut that Ortiz up.

Well Shamrock got rocked again. But classy move on the part of both guys to come together and embrace, give each other the respect they deserve.

I'm pretty sure Dana told Tito to play nice after the fight.

Tito vs the Iceman is gonna be SWEET!

I dont think so, beacuse as soon as Tito saw Ken coming he started to get cocky and walk away, it was only a few seconds later that his guys told him Ken wanted to shake hands that he came back and embraced Ken.

Either way Tito vs Liddell is going to be money, i dont know who to cheer for yet!!

Is that a for sure matchup? That would be sweeeet. I'll go with Tito, I think he's a cocky *******, but after seeing him on TUF I have a newfound respect for him (and lack of it for Shamrock).

Even if Dana White told Tito Ortiz to "play nice," Tito deserves tons of credit for the way he's handled himself ever since the last Ultimate Fighter.

Liddell/Ortiz will be awesome.

Yep..Rogan said Tito and Chuck both signed on, and as long as Tito beat Ken it was on....its going to be the match of the year and we better get at least 3 rounds out of those guys.

I wish... Lidell will knock Tito out in 2 minutes. Too bad, I'm rooting for Tito, but I just don't think it will happen. 2 wins against a 42 year old Shamrock don't count for squat.

MacDonald is actually from Nova Scotia,he just fights and trains out of Edmonton. He used to be a prison guard just up the road in Bowden. He's from a small fishing village called Lismore. Its close to New Glasgow.

So now its all set Tito and Chuck Dec 30th.Now all tito has to do is get Lidell to the mat.Should be interesting.

Well, the last time they fought, it wasn't as if it was all Chuck. Tito actually did pretty good until Chuck got a good shot in... Pretty much the story of any Chuck victory, I guess, but Tito looked very good in the first round.

I wouldn't mind seeing either of them win. Liddell's fights are generally a little more exciting though, so I'll be rooting for him.

I'm pulling for Tito. He is such a great guy, and loves the city of Calgary, what more could you ask. I've met him on a few occasions, most recently at the weigh-in's for the TUF 3 finale in Vegas. Tito is always willing to talk with fans, and so were his team (Kendall Grove, and Mike Bisping specifically).

Ken Shamrock is exactly as advertized. He has ZERO time for any of the fans, and completely blew us off for an autograph.

Anyway, I think if Tito can get Chuck to the ground, he has a chance. Not an easy task though, as Chuck has some of the best takedown defence I have seen.

Why does Shamrock still bother? I didn't see the event, but thought the idea of Shamrock vs Ortiz again was a big waste of time since there was no doubt on who would win.
I've lost a lot of respect for Shamrock the way he has continued to try and fight Ortiz. He reminds me of an old hockey player that should have retired a few years back.
All he get now is pity. Time to move on. Maybe back to wrestling.

well, at least Shamrock didn't run away. He settled it in the ring. And he did retire officially at the end of the program. Kudos to Tito for being at least a bit of a sport and shaking Ken's hand and saying some nice things about him. He should get some respect, he's a big reason why these guys can make money doing this.

Great job by the Canadian, hope to see more of him in future events.

He probably got paid 100k or something to do the fight. He looked to be in worse shape than his last fight with Ortiz. Smiling and dancing going to the ring was very un-Shamrock-like, it seemed like he knew he was going in to lose. No idea why he'd want to go out like that though, so I'm assuming maybe money was a factor. Not sure what those guys get paid, but I wouldn't be surprised if Ken/Tito were pulling in 6 figures a year at least.
