Pretty darn excited for the PPV tonight. Anyone else getting it?

My picks

Loiseau > Swick
Jesn Pulver > Lauzon
Jason Lambert > Rashad Evans
Guillard < Ruediger
Gurgel > Abbadi
Tyson Griffen > David Lee

Thanks for the reminder, I somehow completely forgot about this one!

Hughes vs Penn should be a good one... it's too bad that JSP got injured and couldn't get his title shot after he beat Penn.

Loiseau -should- kick Swick's ass... after his poor showing vs Franklin, you can bet that Loiseau will be looking to show that he's still the man.

Should be a good one!

I think it will be murder. From what I have seen of Swick he doesnt stand a chance in hell.

Agreed, I can see Loiseau dominating this fight.. but Swick is for real. If Swick loses it's just a minor step back, the kid is really good in all aspects of MMA, his striking is fast too, lightning quick.

I am totally looking forward to this one. Hughes should walk out with this one, but should be a good fight. Also Swick should leave with the W but you never know.

I agree with your picks except I think Guillard will take it he has looked good in his last few fights.. I am however hoping that Hughes loses.. Doesn't really matter because St.Pierre is taking that belt, its only a matter of time....Hopefully I get to see this tonight, I'm stuck in Edmonton so I don't know if it'll happen..

****, Penn lost. I mean, I expected it to happen, but from what I understood, he was handily ahead in the fight but lost mostly because of a lack of fitness.

I guess it shows that Hughes is human, at least. But ****, if Penn were in better shape he probably would have won this fight.

Penn won the first two rounds EASY. Had Hughes in a triangle choke and an arm bar at the same time but the damn bell saved him.

Pen was dead to start the 3rd and didn't have the conditioning to do anything...game over.

St. Pierre then cam on stage, took the mic and said to Hughes: "I am glad you won the fight but your win didn't impress me, I look forward to fighting you".

HAHAAHHAH

BURN!

Pretty decent card overall, glad they managed to get the Tyson Griffen fight in.. 155 is stacked in the UFC. Couldnt beleive Jens Pulver, he just looked nervous, I'm sure he will be better, the guy is a world class 155'er and should be better, but good on the young Joe Lauzon.

David Louseau looked hesitant in the first two rounds and it cost him, he coudl have easily won that fight if he took it to swick earlier, he will be back, give him Chris Leben to smash next.

BJ Penn once again gassed out.. where is the dedication.. so much talent, but what a flakey guy. Loved GSP in the ring after, even classless I where my belt all the time Sylvia looked upset.. I lvoed it. St. Pierre just sold more PPV's wth that comment. Hughes diddn't look hurt so let's hope those two are on for november.

Just looking at the undercard that didn't make it to the PPV, apparently Jorge Gurgel took danny Abbadi to a decision.. Danny Abbadi.. poor Gurgel, you suck. Nice to see major improvements (striking) from Evans, and a devestating punch from Melvin "Snipes in Demolition man" Gulliard.

I was impressed with Evans tongiht. I find most of his fights boring but tonight he really took it to him.

Swick got lucky but David Louseau just doesn't have enough heart to be the best. Looks hesitant but I often find myself yelling at the screen saying "it's obvious your losing, do something!" Unfortunatly it was too little too late tonight.

Joe Lauzon pumped me up with those ears.....glad he won.

Man I HATE Silvia...what kind of a tool where's his belt everywhere he goes! Gawd I hate him so much.

You would have loved the last Pride Fighting Championships, where Krokop kicked the crap out of Silva. It was nice to see him go down in a heap.

That GSP comment was awesome, but to me it wreaked of Dana White. You could see while Joe Rogan was interviewing Hughes after the fight, Dana came up behind him and whispered something in his ear that looked like something to the effect of "we're bringing him in the ring".

GSP just doesn't seem like the kind of guy that would say something like that, and also seemed like he genuinely wanted things to "be cool" between him and Hughes by offering to shake his hand numerous times. It wouldn't surprise me if Dana told GSP to go in there and say something.

You have to give him credit though, he's not a paper champion, he takes on all fights and fighters. He's up there with the heavyweights facing off against the 2nd greatest fighter in mma today (for the second time). He goes to the fights rather then waiting for the fights to be feed to him, nor does he hide behind his belt.

Oh and it's Cro Cop

yeah, I don't get the hate for Silvia. Everyone's disappointed that Mr fake fangs didn't beat him the last match. Well maybe he should have actually taken the fight to the ground.

Great card (for once). Hughes looked cocky as ever after his fight, but he's damn lucky he didn't lose in the 2nd round.

I'm not saying Silva isn't a great fighter - he certainly is. I just hate him - his stare-down is extremely annoying. I love to see him get his clock cleaned. Having said that, I'm not sure that Chuck has what it takes to beat Silva. Chuck has excellent counter-punching skills, and could catch Silva (who is a bit wild with his punches). Silva's hands are much quicker than Chuck's hands. It's going to be an interesting fight.

.
I don't like him because I think he is rather talentless. He is just a big oger who has a good reach on guys.

I really started to dislike him in his match with Assuerio Silva last year. Sylvia used the top of the cage to hold onto soo Silva couldn't take him down, and the refs just let it go, it was a joke. That, and I think he is a classless loser wearing his belt everywhere...

Unfortunately, the Lidell/Silva fight isn't going to happen. Pride and UFC couldn't come to terms.
