Default The "I need free legal advice" thread

Really quick question for someone who understands these silly legal documents...

http://www.albertacourts.ab.ca/Court...0/Default.aspx

On the "Affidavit of Service", for the line that says "I, (occupation) of (city), Alberta", do I actually put what I do for a living there? As in "I, tech support, of Calgary, Alberta..."? That seems really dumb to me, so I'm probably missing something here.

Also, the photo that I have to attach doesn't have to be taken now, correct? It can be an old one, as long as it still clearly resembles the person I served?

Thanks!

Yes , you put your occupation there, but it can be as simple as businessman.

No, the photo doesn't have to be current, just recognizable.

Sweet, thanks!

Note to self: if I ever get married, make certain it is to a girl I'll not want to divorce. The amount of paperwork alone is silly!

And do what I did if you are a female: marry a man with the same last name as you (no relations obviously) saves time and money on paperwork.

What is the best way to get about 4-5 pints of blood out of a carpet?

If its relatively fresh, blot out what you can. After that, ammonia diluted in cold water works surprisingly well. start off very diluted and work your way up as necessary.

Tell me you hyphenated your last name!

"Puxlut Smith-Smith"

Truthfully, if my friend was in that situation, he probably would have tried to stipulate he gets to keep the last name in the separation agreement.
