Default Roger Ebert out, Jay Leno in.

The NBC late-night star will substitute for the ailing Roger Ebert on Aug. 5, columnist Robert Feder reports in Friday's Chicago Sun-Times.

Leno's appearance will be taped Tuesday in Los Angeles right after the taping of the "Tonight Show."
I hope Ebert get's better, his reviews are usually pretty decent.

Ebert was the crtic I found myself agreeing with the most, out of the more known ones. I hope he gets better soon.

I have a hard time seeing Leno in that role. I picture him making lame jokes about the movie rather than providing a useful critique. But I guess we'll see.

Me too, I'm sure a Michael Jackson joke will be thrown in there, and now a Mel Gibson one. In his defence though, when Ebert and Roeper have been on the tonight show the discussion is usually very decent.

Apparently Kevin Smith is up for the next round of shows. If worse comes to worse they should just get the fat gut from Aintitcool.com again.
