The "Terminator" will be back next year,

Will you go see Terminator without Arnie?

Pump me up!

What's with this quote? Doesn't make sense at all

"T-4" is not expected to cost as much to produce as its last predecessor given the advances in computer generated imagery that reduce the need for elaborate special effects.
I think they forgot the part where they will save upwards of 20 million in salary to Arnold!

I read that as saying because they can do a lot of the stunts on computer, they don't have to actually set up the set with the cars, guns, explosions, fall off the building nick-of-time getaway... they can just program the whole scene. Though its hard to fight through the grammar of the sentence

That quote kinda worries me. One of the best things about T3 was the way that a lot of the stunts were done using elaborate set-ups rather than special effects--the big chase with the crane smashing through buildings, in particular. You can never get that sort of destruction using computers.

Also, if they shot Terminator 4 in Canada -- which they wanted to do with T3 -- it will be alot cheapter. I beleive Arnold took a paycut to have the producers move T3 back to the states... but he still got alot of cash.

Yuck - T3 was a bas**rdized version of what T1 & T2 were. Linda Himilton is on record saying that T3 was "soulless" and I have to agree. It pretty much became a pure action flick and lost the sci-fi element that James Cameron always manages to pull off in the genre.

Maybe they have so much stock footage of Arnie they can bend and ply him digitally for all the scenes they need. Can anyone say Fallout Boy Milhouse?

When will studios know when enough is enough? Aliens should have stopped at 2. Matrix should probably stop at 3 but I'm sure they'll find a way for a 4th.

Terminator 3 for graphics was pretty cool. The bathroom fight was awesome. Still the whole story was nothing compared to T2. I thought the movie could have been twice as good if they made changes to the characters and storyline. Not having Linda Hamilton was a dumb idea. Without Linda the story is alot weaker. Without Arnold the story sucks.

in general i agree with you aboot sequels to classics, but honestly the alien movies are all so different i really appreciate them.

T4 could be neat if it's the war in the future, but i'd really only be excited if cameron was back in the mix for this.

and honestly not having arnie in this movie may be a big plus. how mny times can we hear him explain his androidness (or should it be androidity...)?

I heard that it will go without Arnie, but he would like to make a cameo. The only way they can do this is if the resistance comes across how they sent the original terminator to kill Sarah Connor, pre-John. It would be cool to see them sneak into whatever production facility they have, and see all these Arnie skins being put on endo-skeletons. That way they can afford to have him in there... just keep him from talking. The most unbelieveable thing about the whole franchise was his accent.
