Favourite/Least Favourite radio ad on the Fan960

I guess my favourite is sort of embarrassing. I get that Windsor, Windsor, see what we have in store song in my head all the time. I loved the add when they had Buzz Shelby or whatever his name is singing along totally off key. I'm sure that's what I sound like in the car.

The one that bugs me right now is that one with old man Charlie bragging about his store that sells mattresses. I don't know if it's his voice or his know it all attitude but it just annoys me.

However I do have the website stuck in my head, so next time I'm looking for a job I'll probably go there.

Drive to work in the morning, running late, having a bad day. This ad fires up and I seriously want to take someone out. Mix that with morning traffic as well as people cutting you off left and right.

I hope someone agrees with me here. Oh yeah, my Cd player is broken, so all I get is radio feeds.

Anything to do with "nutricuticals".
Who ever owns that franchsise has gone from shlepping a home made business for the common man (in the emerging field of nutricuticals) a few years back, to starting to half half hour informericals on the weekend, starring Southern US snake Oil dealers err Doctors not unlike Dr. Nick Riveria, by phone interview.

The commericals advertising this, and, Mr Snake Oil Doctor coming to the Carriage House Inn, are brutal.

I hate any radio commercial which features a siren or a horn honking. Drives me crazy when I'm driving.

That Tax Recovery place where they destroy get back from the Beatles, I actually have to shut off the radio when that comes on.

On the subject of commercials on 960, anyone else do a mental double take the first time listening to that comercial about "Reasons not to drink and drive, courtesy of your life"?

There's this one part where a guy says "I beat my son (...) at playstation, Finally!". There is just long enough of a pause for one's brain to think the guy is proud of beating his child.

What I wish though, was for some one to beat up Joel Matland, president of alarm force. I get a chuckle though, anytime I picture their "Buzz Lightyear" Loudvoice guy interrogating the familiy cat when it trips the motion sensor.

"THIS IS ALARM FORCE, IDENTIFY YOURSELF AT ONCE!!!"

"meow?"

The worst, though. Has to be CalgaryJobShop.ca. That's an automatic station change. (It's that or claw my eyes out and shove them in my ears). Dumb name, amazingly bad commercials.

I liked some of the Calgaryjobshop.ca ones. Especially the one at the funeral. "Ding Dong you know who's dead!" I think it's funny, at least.

I just hate the Alarm Force commercials.

Anything with an alarm clock freaks me out.

Canadian Will kits. Commercials are annoying, and havent changed in five years, and the kit itself is useless. Chances are, you will void your own will using it because one little thing out of place kills the entire thing.

Looking historically, Page Direct used to have an obnoxious 50s-style theme song back when the Flames were on 66CFR. When they changed their name to PDL, they didnt bother writing a new commercial, they simply replaced "Page Direct" with "PDL" in the same ad they had been running since I was a child. For that, PDL is on my permanent boycott list.

I'm not sure if they play this one, but the Spence Diamonds guy is annoying as hell. He's clearly a homosexual, and everytime I hear his voice I just want to pound his face in.

They play him on every fm radio station, and it drives me nuts. Get a new spokesman!

Like: The ones with Beasley usually aren't so bad though I don't know if they count. I liked the one with Peter Maher where he was doing an ad for Green Drop and said, "They've been high on grass for __ years".

That one is very weird. I have thought the exact same thing. That's the kind of guy who catches a foul ball and won't give it to the kid next to him. The crowd chants "give it to the kid" but he won't let go of the ball.

The other voice on those reasons to not drink and drive that bugs me is the young woman that says, "Just moved into my first apartment...finally some freedom."
Her voice makes me cringe every time I hear and I swear it's been on four times a day for about three years. Maybe that's why it bugs me so much is because I've heard it a ridiculous amount of times.
