Lord, Help Us All: The Smashing Pumpkins to Unite
http://entertainment1.sympatico.msn....etect=&abc=abc
Guess Billy couldn't make it on his own, afterall...
"It's official, the Smashing Pumpkins are currently writing songs for their upcoming album, their first since 2000. No release date has yet been set, but the band plans to begin recording this summer."
There's no word on whether original bassist D'Arcy Wretzky (who's been estranged from frontman Billy Corgan for more than seven years) or guitarist James Iha (who doesn't have a great relationship with the bald one either) are on board, but original drummer Jimmy Chamberlin is most likely in since he and Corgan signed with Azoff Management as the Smashing Pumpkins

Interesting.
Since Iha's only project (that I'm aware of) is in itself a side project I would think he'd at least consider dealing with Corgan's ego again. For D'Arcy it's going to depend on whether she is clean or not. Obviously Corgan has given Chamberlain another chance so I would suspect he'd do the same for her.

Isn't James Iha still with A Perfect Circle?
A Pumpkins reunion would be welcome, but just Billy and Chamberlain isn't a Pumpkins reunion.

Yeah, Iha is with APC. But with Tool releasing a new album in a couple of weeks MJK is going to be tied up for a while. I'm sure Iha would be free for a while.

This is sweet, Pumpkin's have been one of my favorite band for a long time. i remember going to watch them at the dome when i was 17. Well if D'Arcy doesn't come back what are the chances that they might bring back in that bassest that played with Hole

Melissa Auf der Maur.
She has her own band IIRC, but I remember reading an article where she said that if a reunion happened she'd be willing to step in again.

Melissa Auf der Maur is incredibly hot, saw her at Mac Hall and was transfixed.
I read somewhere that APC is done, don't have a source. Don't really pay close attention, that band bores me.

and
Love the Pumpkins but hated Corgan as a solo artist and with that crappy band he did...good news that they are getting back together.

I dloaded the Tool album as well, noticed they were some stupid m4a files and promptly deleted it.
What's wrong with mp3s?
These computer nerds are getting out of control.
