Fan throws syringe at Bonds

During the SD/SF game tonight, a fan threw a hug syringe (minus the needle) at Barroids as he was coming off the field. Ol Barroids didn't look to pleased - i hope this becomes a daily occurence for him

Ordinaraly I would agree, but in this case, I'll make an exception. If he left the needle attached, that would not be cool, but since he didnt, I consider it an absolutely fantastic way to make the fans opinion of Bonds known.

I don't like it.

The overall fan opinion of Bonds is already known, and there is already enough attention on it.

There is real baseball being played, and this just ruins it.

I meant the MLB as a whole, but to your point:

Barry isn't bigger than the game. His team still has to go out there and play. Incidents like this only help to increase and magnify the spectacle that is Bonds.

I agree that fans should never do stuff like this but it is hard not to chuckle a bit when it happens to someone who deserves it as much as Bonds does.

Bonds is close to passing Babe Ruth on the alltime home run list though, and as such, should be under scrutiny and accusations like no one else in the game. Especially considering the latest round of accusations that are contained in that book. One which actually claims that the Balco founder was paid 100K to not supply Sheffield with the same concoctions that Bonds was getting, so he could be the bigger and better cheater.

Bonds deserves every single thing that has happened and what comes in the future.

He is both a cheater and a liar, much like Sosa, Palmeiro, and McGwire.

There is a reason MLB is launching a major investigation into it all.

Not to mention, Giambi basically got a free pass because he came out with a rather Wishy-Washy confession.

Palmero has been tried and executed already.

McGwire already sunk himself with his testimony to congress, everyone pretty much knows he was on the juice.

The reason people are going after Barry is because he keeps putting himself out there, and seemingly Ignores (doesn't refute) the accusations. If all this stuff was coming out against Sheff, he'd be ridden just as hard as Barry is, but it isn't. Anyone who thinks this is just some persecution of Barry is a moron.

As per the main topic of this thread..... NO its not cool to throw crap on the field. Where does it stop when a kid gets hit in the head by a stupid fan throwing garabage on the field? Sure Barry is the Poster Steriod Boy but in my view there is allot of other players that have done the same thing. The only difference Barry has allot more natural talent.

The MLB need to conduct their investigation and rule on asap. If there is sufficient evidence they need to suspend Bonds and all the other players involved.

I realize Bonds is a cheater and all that. But I have a hard time with whole thing just because MLB ignored it for so long, and in fact benefited from the home run battles of Sosa/Mac when baseball needed something to latch on to. And now they are acting all innocent. Bah. If things should be thrown at all they should be in the direction of the two clowns running the show - Selig and Fehr, for letting things get so out of control.
For some reason I've always liked Bonds - he's a total jerk but at least he's up front about being a jerk. Guys like Sosa and Mac **** me off more because they were sold as these nice guys but at the end of the day they were just as big a chaters as Bonds, if not more.

The MLB investigation will be a farce. They have no power to compel testimony or production of documents. Barry already said he will not cooperate.

Only a grand jury or congressional hearing can uncover the truth.

As much as I don't like Bonds I'm not sure if you can call it cheating if MLB didn't have a rule against it. It is hard to blame someone for getting every advantage he can if there are no rules against it. Baseball has to take the majority of the blame for this. As mentioned before they had no problem when the homerun race was bringing back fans but all of a sudden now they want the game clean. There is a reason guys never fail these tests, MLB doesn't want them to because it looks bad. Apparently the main investigator they have does not have any authority to force players to testify so all he/she is really doing is looking around for someone to rat the others out, good luck with that.

The before and after pictures of Barry are incredible. His biceps and triceps are at least 3 times the size that they were before. How is it even possible to do with without using steroids?
