Sharks UFA Feeding Frenzy!
As reported last week the Sharks signed several "gems" that had gone undrafted last year and are draft eligible this year. To recap the previously announced signings were (quotes are from Hockey's Future):
1. Quan Representation has signed Girardi, Daniel (D) of the San Jose Sharks to a 3 year deal worth $.575 mill. (2-way deal)
"Girardi is a solid D-man in his rookie pro season. He is the leading rookie scorer amongst D-men in the AHL and has played very well at both ends of the ice." 57GP 7G 28A +13 20PIM
2. Quan Representation has signed Wilson, Kelsey (LW) of the San Jose Sharks to a 3 year deal worth $.575 mill. (2-way deal).
"Kelsey Wilson was picked up from the Sarnia Sting to provide some muscle for the Storm last year. But what they discovered is that along with his toughness, Wilson has some other tremendous upside. Wilson is an obvious beneficiary of the new rules. He now plays on the power play, and has scored at a rapid clip throughout this season. He is willing to pay the price in traffic and doesn’t back down from more physically overpowering opponents. We are convinced that his upside is much higher than previously thought." 67GP 38G 31A +8 196 PIM
3. Agent the_only_turek_fan and Guadagnolo, Anthony (San Jose Sharks)(FORMER UFA) have agreed to a contract worth 1.00 million for 3 year(s)"Anthony Guadagnolo was stuck in the shadow of Danny Battochio in Ottawa for the past 2 years. But the trade that brought Guadagnolo to Windsor has been like a rebirth for the athletic goaltender. He has been incredible in Windsor with his combination of quiet movement and ability to steal goals. The Spitfires turned their season around when Guadagnolo became their #1 player. He has helped them climb to the top of the Western division." 48GP 2.75GAA .915 Save% 27-14-3-3 Ranked as the #4 keeper in the OHL
Since these signings several more players have been signed as well! 4. Mean Green Representation has signed Tregunna, Scott (RW) of the San Jose Sharks to a 3 year deal worth $.500 mill. (2-way deal).
"ScottTregunna has been a blessing for the Owen Sound Attack because he has been so versatile this year, especially when one considers all the injuries his teammates experienced. His ability to adapt and play defense exceptionally well was a tremendous boost for the Attack and his offensive contribution has been worthy. He plays well in all 3 zones, has a complete game, good size, all of this warranting him consideration for the upcoming draft". 66GP 11G 12A 23P +3
5. Mean Green Representation has signed Gajewski, Kyle (G) of the San Jose Sharks to a 3 year deal worth $.500 mill. (2-way deal)
"Gajewski is another player that we thought would be selected in 2005 after his strong second half last season, however the reduced draft may have hurt his chances. He has continued to be the workhorse for the Greyhounds this year and was a bright spot on an underachieving team in the first half. The second half has seen rejuvenation in his team that has been partly because of Gajewski’s strong play. Although he still has a tendency to give up a soft goal now and then, his strong technical play and ability to steal games makes him an intriguing prospect for later in the draft" 64GP 2.82GAA .904Save% 29-25-3-5 Ranked as the #5 keeper in the OHL
6. The Game Player Agencies has signed Angelidis, Mike (LW) of the San Jose Sharks to a 3 year deal worth $1.00 mill. (2-way deal)
"He has scored at an incredible rate all year for the Attack and has a number of traits that we at ISS love in players. Most notable are his incredible work ethic and his willingness to play in the tough areas. He has demonstrated a quick stick all year and will easily surpass the 50-goal mark. Although Angeledis will become a free agent, a player that works as hard as he does should be welcome in any of the 30 NHL organizations." 68GP 53G 25A -9 167PIM
7. SOB Agencies has signed D Aversa, Jon (D) of the San Jose Sharks to a 3 year deal worth $.500 mill. (2-way deal)
"JonD’Aversa has been overshadowed by some of his higher profile teammates such as MarcStaal and AdamMcQuaid over the past years. This season he has proven that he is a worthy draft prospect. He has continued to get better and, early in the season when McQuaid really struggled, it was D’Aversa who picked up the slack and kept the Wolves steady. He has good offensive instincts and his defensive game has become very respectable under the tutelage of BobbyJones. We believe he has the potential to play pro." 62GP 7G 39A +13 83PIM
The Sharks are very pleased to welcome these youngsters into the fold. They will help to maqke up for rthe lack of quality draft picks held this year and also give some flexibility for trades, etc.

hmmmm...Hockey's Future has them listed here:
http://hockeysfuture.com/article.php?sid=8471
The title of the section is " ISS Top Undrafted 86-87 Prospects" and the whole premise of it is that these guys slipped through last seasons draft and should have been picked up by some team last year and likely will be this year due to their play this season.

Well according to the team web pages, they're not eligable to be drafted til 2006, so I guess it's up to the league to decide what to do.
