Park N' Ride Question.. HELP!
Hey guys...
On the odd occasion, I start work during the rush hour... and all stalls at Dalhousie and Brentwood are full (DAMN YOU UofC STUDENTS!!!!!)
Anyone know where the McMahon Park N' Ride is?
The website says there are 780 stalls, and that its "close" to banff trail.. Can anyone be more specific? Is it in the McMahon parking lot?
Thanks..

Yup, right at the base of the pedestrian overpass that goes across crowchild.
Here's a little tip for you, if driving southbound on Crowchild, go THROUGH the set of lights right at the pedestrian overpass (they are actually attached to it, where banff trail meets Crow) than take your next right. This part of the lot is speperated from the main one, and you can park MUCH closer to the bottom of the stairs that will take you over crow.

Another quick one..
Im looking through google earth and see there are a couple parking areas.. its the one that the overpass goes into the one? Or are they both them?
Thanks.
And why isn't the banff trail station under the schedule?...
Lots of questions.. Never mind.. found the sched.

all of McMahon's parking lot is good....so, I guess both.
What time does Dalhousie usually fill up by? I'm getting sick of going all the way to McMahon (which is usually less full and I can park closer to the station than Brentwood)

90% of the folks start at 8am, so between 7:00-7:30 is probably the busiest time.
I'll be at Banff Trail at 5:30 tomorrow, so parking won't be an issue, but I want to find it so I can always go there first, and make my way back to Brentwood, then dalhousie... even though I should go the otherway... but Im almost certian a lot of the stalls are being taken up by UofC students.

Today might have been more packed because of the snow. As I was stuck in traffic I watched the train go by and it seemed even more full than usual.. and the parking lot at work seemed less full than normal.. I think a lot of people take public transport when the weather gets really bad.. or until they remember how to drive in it again

No problem!
Where the stairs come down from the overpass is actually at the divider between the two parking lots, they but right into each other. The one you want is the south one. If you are super early though, then the main one will do you just fine.

When I used to live in the NW a few years ago, and Brentwood was the end of the line, you had to be at the Brentwood LRT by 7:00 to get a spot. I would say even with the expansion you'd be pushing it by 7:30.

classes at UofC starts at 8am so get to Dalhousie/Brentwood before 7:30am and you're guaranteed a spot.

Thats the problem, I usually work around 6am downtown, so thats not a big deal, but its shift work, and sometimes start at like 9, 10, 11 etc...
Ive been parking at the mcmahon LRT, and have never had a problem finding a spot.. even at 11am. Its packed, but there are always pleanty of spaces near the back, or that hill thinggy.
