Canadiens @ Flames: Game preview, start time, Tale of the Tape, and how to watch
The Calgary Flames were authoring a similar story to the Montreal Canadiens to end last season: a very young team still in the midst of a rebuild beating expectations by pushing for a playoff spot. Montreal got the happy ending from that tale, but Calgary, despite finishing with five more points than the Habs, were just out of the frame of the playoff picture.
Three takeaways as Flames fall to Jets for sixth straight loss
While this may have been their finest performance of the fall, the Flames have now lost six straight. At 1-6-0, this marks the first time in franchise history that they’ve collected only two points through their first seven contests of a new campaign.
What do the stats tell us about the Flames’ awful start?
Just two weeks in, it could soon — very soon — feel like too late for a squad that believed they should be able to end a three-year playoff drought.
What do the stats tell us about the Flames’ fall flop? Let’s take a look …
As Flames Sink to NHL Bottom, Big Questions Loom Over Culture and Direction
General Manager Craig Conroy made his intentions clear last season: this organization isn’t about shortcuts. It’s about competing, developing, and sustaining a culture that hates to lose. Tanking, at least philosophically, isn’t part of the plan.
Who Martin St-Louis Starts in Calgary Has Everyone Talking
Who will be in net for the Habs?
According to journalist Priyanta Emrith, the Canadiens' head coach confirmed that he has not yet chosen his starting goaltender for Wednesday night's game in Calgary.

Even the very worst teams still manage to win about a quarter of their games. Tonight is game #8, so let's get win #2!

Hate losing to the Habs, so how about they blow them out! Flames shock the world with a 8 goal outburst. 8-0 Flames.

This should be a very entertaining game. I've really enjoyed watching the Habs, Ducks, and Mammoth this season. They all play entertaining brands of hockey, and are finding success doing so.
As always, if the Flames find a way to lose this one it's a massive swing for the better when it comes to long-term health of the organization.
If the Flames win, I hope it's because the Habs pulled them into a track meet and we watched our most entertaining game of the year.
A great day for Flames hockey.

Please score more than 2 goals and get a W, just to change the tone of discussion.

I will have no issues with a hardfought 3-2 loss. Don't let doubt creep into Conroy's mind on what the path forward is.

I have a good feeling about tonight's game. Flames win and we get at least 2 of the following 3 firsts:
Parekh's first point of the season
Farabee's first goal of the season
Honzek's first point of his career

Dang looking at the gamescores for last game, the flames really did dominate the play. Gotta think some good bounces are in our future.

I find that Ryan Pike tweet funny. I don't know about anyone else but it's an extremely easy choice for me to watch the first BJs world series game in 30 years instead of a nothing game <10 games into the season between the flames and Jets. Are the wranglers even televised? haha

the Habs have a young and exciting team, lots to be jealous of. Hopefully the Flames are a year or two away from similar energy.

And guess who the Habs play next? The Greasers, B2B tomorrow. This league is hilarious. Go Flambes.
