Default Weird coincidences

So this just happened
I am watching “little big league” on movie time. It’s a dumb 90s era baseball movie but whatever. This scene just played

https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=zy3Jsf_rKzg

Funny trick ball scene. Commercial comes so I’m scrolling my youtube feed and literally the next clip that plays is this one

https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=j45ztPQ6i2I

Weird right?

This is nothing. I wake up THINKING that it might be time to buy a new mattress. Check CP. Guess what ads come up? That’s not even weird. That’s eff’n scary.

Talking in your sleep about how uncomfortable your mattress is and your phone heard you.

Smart move. Dead people don't worry about advertising.

I had one a couple of weekends ago. My wife and I were in SouthCentre and I mentioned I could do with some new trousers. We hadn't discussed this at all and I hadn't been searching on my phone. Just spur of the moment. We checked out RW and the Bay. We didn't go into Tip Top but we had a conversation about it, how it appears to cater to younger guys these days. Of course, the very next day I'm getting ads on my phone for Tip Top. Is it probable/improbable that phones are continuously listening in to conversations?

My favourite actual honest to goodness coincidence happened a couple of years ago. I had bought a Philip Glass box set and had been gradually going through it at the time. On my lunch break I literally watched a top 10 coincidences video on YouTube. My very first phone call back after my break was a call dealing with Philip Glass' account with our company (had no idea he was a client but it turns out he owns property in Canada) The whole sequence of events blew my mind. A CD of his was literally sitting in my player.

Your devices are listening to what you are watching. No biggie.

I had a weird experience a couple of weeks ago.

I was hungry and was digging through my cupboard of random canned goods for something that needed to be used, and came across a can of dolmas that was probably in there for years. I couldn't remember buying them, but assumed it was one of those things I saw on sale somewhere and thought why not. I ate them, and really enjoyed them. I went on to Google to see where I could buy more and typed into the search engine "where to buy", and it autofilled the search as "where to buy dolmas".

I asked my wife if she was searching for dolmas thinking it was in the algorithm or something, and she looked at me like I was from outer space, because she didn't even know what dolmas were.

More likely they are using location to advertise, and knew you were in the store.

I'm on your wife's side. WTH is a dolma? Had to Google it. Now I'm getting nonstop dolma ads. The dolma game has gotten out of hand, yo. It used to be about the dolmas, now it's all about the dollars.

Trousers? We all know what it means but I didn’t think anyone uses it. Did your wife also require some slacks?

No, of course not. My wife was on the lookout for a nice petticoat.

Watched the new Wham! documentary on Netflix last night. Was watching Sportscentre right afterwards and a few times when showing highlights the commentator went "and on the very next play..."

My mind of course had to complete it with "he gave it away", but it didn't quite work out

I just had another weird one.

My wife said she was going to pick up groceries and asked me to text her the word "avocado" to remind her to pick up avocados. Right after texting her, I opened up the Wordscapes app on my phone to do a puzzle, and this was the first puzzle that came up:
