Voted Pelletier - I'll need to see Coronato play in the NHL before I would put him ahead of Pelletier.

close between Coronato and Pelletier, but I think Coronato has more high-end potential than Pelletier.

Coronato to me just has a slightly more elite toolbox the Pelts so it’s Coronato for me.

I'm interested in round 3
Nothing against Pelletier, he's #4 for me, but I'm curious if people think he's a better prospect than Honzek

Same for me.
I see Pelletier's ceiling as a second liner, where Honzek could be a top line player. Based on that I have Honzo at 3, and Pelletier at 4/5 with Morin.

Love watching how these things fold out and looking at the history of where as a collective group we had players ranked. I look back at having Walker Duehr ranked 39th in 2021 and look how he progressed, and other guys are not even in and around the league anymore. I am super excited to see who that player is this year to take a big jump and who a person is completely wrong about.

Coronato: 72 points in 68 games in college
Pelletier: 99 points in 101 games in the ahl
Yes coronato is 1.5 years younger but to me Pelletier production in the ahl is much more impressive than coronato in college.

Voted Coronato.
Honestly not sure what to do with Pelletier. I get some Curtis Lazar vibes from him.

Coronato looked great in his one game. I'd need to see more Honzek, but being where he was in a very strong draft gives me pause and makes me think maybe he's better.

Right. Totally forgot about that - Pelletier has proven himself at the AHL and NHL level. Coronato hasn't yet - I am sure he will, but until then I gotta take Pelletier... although I understand why people would have Coronato ahead.

But there must be some limit to this logic.
Bedard hasn’t played a game. He hasn’t proven himself. Would you have Pelletier over him?

For sure ... but in this case he's using more NHL time to pick between two mid to late first round picks.

I went with Coronato after Wolf.
That one game was a small sample size (and meaningless), but man did he give me Joey Mullen vibes.
Less than huge right shot winger with a nose for the net.

Honzek for me. I am sure there will be people making the argument of 'shiny new toy', but for me, Honzek checks-off everything you want in a 'franchise level player' - size, speed, skill, IQ, shot. Wolf might be good enough to be a 'face of the franchise' type for this team, but few goalies ever become that. Roy was for Montreal, but not Colorado. Lundquvist probably was. Hasek defintely was in Buffalo. However, the face of the franchise is usually a skater, and out of all the prospects, I feel Honzek as the most potential to get there.
I am very high on the Flames' prospect base as a whole, and see some players with a potential to be stars - Coronato, Pelletier, Poirier, Morin, etc. I also assign huge value on a guy like Klapka, who I think could develop into a very important piece later on if he continues to progress. Guys like Zary, Kuznetsov, Stromgren, Suniev, etc - all show high potential too.
At this point, I see Honzek as the most likely 'franchise player' in the years to come, rather than being down on guys like Coronato. I think Honzek as a fairly complete high-end package will make a lot of people wonder how he didn't go top 10 in the draft in a couple of seasons.

Pelletier has the highest floor of anyone remaining on the list. That said, the rankings always reflect what the fans feel the team needs.
We are hurting for a steady goalie, and we are hurting for some elite scoring. Wolf and Coronato make sense.

Pelletier. Even though Coronato looks to have a higher ceiling I think he has to prove something at the pro level while Pelletier has already done so. Coronato next on the list though.
