All I can get

Klapka.
Big body with good hands in tight. Have him on the power play.
Schwindt is a bit like a Justin Kirkland/Glenn Gawdin 'tweener type to me.

Ciona.
Kerins is intriguing, was he bumped to the ECHL due to the trickle down effect of the organizations love of vets? Coming out of junior he looked like a great pick.

Apropos of nothing, my 11 yr old met Kuznetsov and Nikolaev down at Score Hockey Range yesterday. Both really nice and decent kids. My boy loved shooting beside them and getting photos with them. And can Nikolaev ever shoot the puck! Woah. So since Kuznetsov is gone Nikolaev is getting my good-guy vote this round.

Ciona, sticking with players 20 and under for the remainder.

Ciona, Kerins, and Klapka are all pretty close IMO.

At this point, I'm having a very difficult time choosing. I really like Bell, Ciona, Kerins, Klapka, and Schwindt here.

Going on the Klapka wagon from now on. Huge guy that can actually skate really well and shoot the puck well. That's valuable on the 3rd/4th line. With the right coaching, he can turn into a quality 'shadow' type of player like Otto was. I hope that he drops the mitts less than he seems to have been this time around, and focuses more on his impact on the scoresheet.
There is a lot of potential there, and it wouldn't surprise me that he is still trying to 'find his body' even at the age of 22. By no means is the following a straight-up comparison of what we can expect, but Chara was not anywhere close to what he became with time. Islanders didn't see too much in him and included him in the Yashin trade, then Ottawa had him for a number of years and identified Redden as the player to keep, and I would say he really finally blossomed in Boston at the age of 29. He was already a good player and he was productive, just not that elite presence. His first 3 full seasons in the NHL were mediocre - 2 goals in 3 straight seasons and topping out at 11 points before going to Ottawa. Now, once again, we can't expect a Chara obviously (and we all know defencemen take more time to mature as well), but there are not too many other giants to compare Klapka with.
Point I am (trying - and probably failing) to make is that Klapka probably needs a bit more of a runway to develop and really blossom, but with the right coaching and opportunity, he can really become an effective impact player in the NHL with his size, speed and shot.

He's gonna put up 50+ in the A this season.

So I guess we run off the three, graduate the winner, and return the other two to the regular vote tomorrow?
