Detroit didn’t make sense as a landing spot. You could get him for free in a few months, if you are interested in him. Or trade for his rights which would be cheaper than his price right now.

I know we are mad at the Flames not selling but Philly is in an even worse spot and didn't move Braun or JVR who are both UFAs that could have had value.

You'd have thought somebody would at least give up a 3rd for JVR.
