I admit to being utterly confused by this. Scorp paid a 4.2M buyout to release Henrique, and then signed him back at 4.75 per year, meaning this year he will pay him almost 9M combined, rather than the 6M he was originally owed.
What am I missing?

He's going to the A. I bought him out to clear the CPHL space and gain the flexibility to be able to demote him for this year

My math could be off here but, at $4.75, his cap hit in the AHL would still be $2.375, which is 79% of the AHL cap space, no?
You've surprised me before though so I'm excited to see what ya do with this

Yes that reality has gradually dawned on me over the last half hour. I think I screwed up my math on this. If I'd done 40% it probably would've been fine.
It was a good idea in theory ... well, we're going to have to make some adjustments. First we have to see if Henrique clears.

Yeah, I think that the math is screwed up and there might end up a compliance problem. I you bring up or buy out your three biggest AHL cap hits, you still come up a little short. If your confident that you can figure it out, that's fine.
