Default Dach Signs in Montreal

'Hawks were disappointed in his progress and let him walk as RFA. I, personally don't think that his wrist ever healed correctly.

For the 'Habs it is a low risk with a huge, possible upside, if they can get him healthy.

'Hawks wanted him at #2C perhaps #1C down the line, but, he was poor on draws, and then the wrist set him back. He didn't fit well at Wing, and with the new front office/coaching staff, they weren't as invested in his development. Best for him to get a new start.

To be clear, Hawks didn't let him walk - traded for a good haul.

(2022-Jul-07 Traded from Chicago Blackhawks to Montreal Canadiens for round 1 pick in the 2022 draft (Frank Nazar) and round 3 pick in the 2022 draft (Gavin Hayes)
