Default Expectations, hopes & predictions for the next week

We're coming up on the toughest week of the schedule with 6 games in 9 nights sandwiched by two measuring stick games in Colorado.

Sat @ COL
Mon vs. EDM
Tues vs. WSH
Thurs vs. TBL
Sat vs. DET
Sun @ COL

What are your hopes/expectations for this stretch, given the inevitability of fatigue playing in and both goalies seeing starts?

My hopes are:
Split the two Colorado games
Beat Edmonton (in any fashion)
Take one of the the WSH/TBL games
Beat Detroit in any fashion, even if it's ugly

For a 4-2 record.

Crossing fingers none of the games go to overtime.

interesting the contrast- the Aves host the Flames twice, in between they go on the road for three games (Canes being the toughest, one B2B)- off to the Eastern time zone

the Flames travel to Colorado twice, but the meat of the sandwich is 4 at home (2 total B2Bs)

Sat @ COL --> W. Biggest game of the year. Darryl and the Flames get the W.
Mon vs. EDM --> L. We somehow lose to these losers again, but something happens to stir the rivalry.
Tues vs. WSH --> W.
Thurs vs. TBL --> W. Coleman has a big game.
Sat vs. DET --> W.
Sun @ COL --> L.

I expect them to sleepwalk through that Detroit game.

Wouldn't be surprised to see a bed crapping to Edmonton after an emotional statement win in Colorado.

Would be on brand for this team, although I'm hoping otherwise. They've proven me wrong a few times this year.

Also we seem to have issues with Canadian rival teams.

10 wins. Oh next week? 7 days, 7 wins.

Seriously, over under is 7.5 points for me.

I went with points and not wins because snek says that we can get by with OT and shootout points.

Very tough schedule. I think 3 or 4 wins would be very successful.

I don't really think we need to be saying things like that this year. That is not the brand of this current team.

I just want NO injuries!!!
We dodged a bullet with Oliver ...phew...and Tanev must be made of steel because he's been getting some rough rides .

These upcoming games will show us how we stack up with the current leaders in the league in all categories and I'm pretty confident we'll see some great things.
If we went .500 I'd be happy
If we don't play OT I'll be happy
If we don't have shootouts even better

Looking forward to the AVS game. I want to destroy them ....I want the head of Kadri on a platter and just wish GIO was still here as hewd to head GIO owned Kadri like Regher used to own Hemsky.

Go Flames Go

Win four of six and feed the snake. Don't care how they do it.
I mean, I do care. I want to beat Colorado at least once and I really want to beat Edmonton.
But at the end of the day: four of six is what matters.

The difficulty with Canadian rivals has remained a theme this year, with the odd exception of Toronto.

Some of the most uncharacteristic games for this team have come against Canada, including the loss in MTL, home loss to OTT, the Vancouver blowout and getting PDO'd twice by the stink.

Give me American teams any day of the week though. This team can cut through them like butter.

The Avs have always bugged me. I really want to see the Flames play well those games and win at least one in regulation.

This would be the biggest sign of progression to me.

The importance of a good showing against the reigning champs this week will also be key.

But of course most will overlook that game for the BoA rematch.
