Marc Giordano makes a mockery of the trading process. Feigning injury to his Achilles, he begs to remain in Washington, where he is the secret power behind the 'democratic' throne. GM Bagopucks, innocent bystander in Giordano's insidious game of cat and mouse, is caught in the existential crossfire. In an attempt to bring light to Giordano's backroom dealings and shadowy 'injuries', the GM of LA has transcendentally agreed to allow a positive flow of value towards Washington in there next dealing, whenever that will be. Should a hockey deal be essentially 'one for one', with perfect balance achieved, an inexplicable distant year 5th round pick may find it's way East.
LA would like to thank the Capitals GM for being a standup guy, and bringing attention to Giordano's 'injury'.
In unrelated news :
LA has traded Christian Dvorak and a 2023 4th to the TB Lightning for Ryan "Steve" McDonagh and ECHLer Kirill Kirsanov. TB also receives a stipend of 750K to spend as they wish.
McDonagh fills the void left by the departure of Josi, and Kirsanov is a player that we were disappointed to miss out on at the draft. A pure defensive defenseman, he fits the mould of a future Cernak. Every team should always be prepared with a Cernak.
The loss of 750K in cap greased the wheels of the trade happening before the next time that the Kings take the ice, leaving no gap on the blueline. Oddly, the availability of these funds link back to the loss of David Rittich to the Wild due waiving, releasing and free agency. The Kings are back to a neutral cap after all of the roster changes.
