Based on all his videos, he looks to be having a great time there. I know this may be a surprise, but it is completely possible to have an enjoyable/fulfilling life outside of North America.

Maybe im a country boy but I thought it looked great minus the KGB and mafioso but they probably aren't prevalent in that little village.

That was quite entertaining and funny. I like Hartley as well, I'd be curious to what he actually said or did to some of the players here that they think he's a big meanie.

Hartley was coaching during one of calgaryboy’s Czech Trek II tour so we were down by the bench for practices.
- Hartley was at the bench/tunnel while the guys warmed up and Harley got talking to the kids milling about. “Are you guys going to be my players in a few years? Keep practicing hard.” or some such comment. I thought it was cool of him to reinforce their NHL dreams.
- Calgaryboy wanted a picture with Hartley so he asked me to arrange it. Hartley is coming off the ice and I say “Coach, my friend is from the Czech Republic and would like a picture with you?” “OF COURSE! Come on down!” Security guard let’s CB hop down to the tunnel and we get the picture. CB commended Hartley on his coaching style and Hartley was a little taken by surprised and seemed to genuinely appreciate the comment.
He just really seems like a good guy who doesn’t take himself overly seriously.
