A game has to be played and winner must be declared at the end, so let's get this over with.

Flames have been marginally better than the Canucks over the course of the season so they may be slight favorites to win. That's just the way it is.

If the idea of the Flames playing a postponed regular season game well into the playoffs and/or winning and lowering their draft position upsets you, then perhaps it would best if you didn't watch. Remember, you don't have to watch the game if you don't really want to.

Honest question ...

Will anyone even read a game story if I record this thing and watch it when I get home? I'm guessing the number that would actually open it is what 5%?

Might just call it a season.

I would not put more effort into this than the Flames are.

Good on the league for making these final 2 games afternoon games and not mixed in with the evening playoff games.
Go Flames!

I would suspect you are right. PGT threads a a couple pages with the majority of it around how much people hate the team.

I found it amusing how they said on the broadcast the other day - if there is ever a time to take a day off, now is it with these two afternoon games.

Who in the heck is taking a day or even afternoon off for these games?

I always read them and appreciate the effort, but it is completely understandable if you call it at this point. The games feel more like exhibitions at this point, especially compared to playoff games with fans in the arenas.

It's irresponsible to play these games, league is so stupid.

Time for you sir to take a day off.

Appreciate your work throughout the season. There has been a few times where I had to crack your story open because I was unable to watch the game due to something else that conflicted with it.

I’d rather you start making an overall analysis on the 2021 season... Because there’s a LOT to cover. And it wouldn’t have to be published until a few weeks prior to the draft.

Thanks for all that you do!

I suspect there are bonuses and whatnot for players that see this forcing games to be played.

Also draft positions were not decided when they decided to go ahead with them.

Yeah i hear you on this, even if I read them religously.

Maybe just do one on both games combined after tomorrow or do a season ending thing thats a bit more comprehensive.

I have enjoyed reading the summaries all season (even though I still really don't understand all the fancy stats), and no one can argue that you haven't given your last full measure of devotion to this team in a season where they clearly didn't.

Stand down and enjoy the summer. For now, your watch has ended.

It doesn't trump safety. These things can be calculated. We got a draft pick last year because we paced out Neal's goals to be over 21 when he really only got 19. If they can do that 11 games short, they can do it for less than 5.

What's the safety issue?

The league just pulled off an entire season with very few problems sans the Canuck outbreak (which will be directly related to a couple players simply ignoring rules), I think the NHL should be commended.

I must say that as bad as the Flames have been this season, the Canucks have been horrific. I know they have the COVID excuse but they were terrible long before that. I realize the Canucks media seems to think Green should keep his job but they just haven't played anything that resembles team defense for a few seasons now. If their goaltenders aren't standing on their heads they have no chance of winning games and that's not a recipe for success.

These bums have taken many a night off this season. You deserve at least one.

It's still unnecessary to gather in the current state that BC and Alberta are in. It's not just the players, it's the travel and the staff involved. Sure if playoff spots were on the line but not meaningless games.
