Default Oilers 7 Flames 1

Game Takes: Oilers 7 Flames 1

- Markstrom chased
- Too many turnovers again
- Flames post 44 shots and at least showed some pride
- Team looks pretty lost

Well the Flames dominated the fancy stats. No changes or adjustments required. The better team with better possession stats will win out in the end

No mention of the Backlund penalty? I thought once they got their first goal they may have been able to settle things down and keep the game close but Backlund took that brutal penalty and things just snowballed out of control after the ensuing goal.

Hopefully this game is the wake up call/catalyst to a winning streak. It’s happened in the past where this group gets embarrassed, and turns things around. We can only hope anyway. I doubt Treliving will be able to make any trades. And he’s unlikely to replace the coach. So I’m hoping the players come together after this beating and rally.

Forget a winning streak. Going a few games in row where they score first would be a treat.

You've mentioned it how many times already? I think it's been established it was a bad penalty at a bad time.

Still we didnt score another goal, but maybe we would have lost 2-1 if they didnt go up 3-1 on that powerplay?

Plenty of blame to go around but I agree it was an emotional, stupid penalty by Backlund. I'm sure he also agrees with us.

I would settle for a game where we don't go down by two and then try to come back...baby steps...
