Default Panthers get Active on the Trade Front

The Florida Panthers tweaked their lineup Saturday night after struggling to score goals lately. They have made two trades in the hopes of finding good team chemistry.

Trade #1

To Nashville:
Jaroslav Modry and Dave Schmelnko

To Florida:
Brian Berard

Breakdown: The Panthers struggles began right after trading Brian Berard so what did they do? They went out and got him back!

Trade #2

To Anaheim:
Jason Smith, Martin Skoula and Jason Bailey

To Florida:
Janne Niinimaa, Jason Doig and Jordin Tootoo

Breakdown: When presented with the possibility of landing a great passer like Niinimaa, the Panthers had to take it! The Panthers are one of the best defensive teams in the CPHL but could use some help scoring a few more goals. The tradeoff here was DF for PA. It is expected that Niinimaa will play with McCabe and that Berard will once again be reunited with his good buddy Kimmo Timmonen. Jordin Tootoo will provide added depth and although the Panthers weren't excited about downgrading Skoula to Doig, it needed to happen to land Niinimaa.

Saying "Florida active on the trade front" is like saying "Fish active in swimming front"
